The bible prophecies about many things that are happening now. For instance, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” (Matthew 24:6,7) America are in a huge amount of debt, riots in Greece and London, I heard on the radio today (england) that the area I live in has a huge increase of people stealing food from farms “And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (Matthew 24:7,8). Divorces are happening all the time, marriage is a vow “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”(Matthew 24:12). Jesus speaking "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." so there can't be a prediction of the coming of Jesus Christ, don't think you've got until 2012 because the Mayans predict the end of time or think it will be somewhere around 2020 for whatever reason. There is a parable of a rich land owner who saved up for many years so he could relax and enjoy himself "You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?" So in other words, you don't know when you are going to die so be sure that everyday you're ready to die and that your life as it is will be judged by the Lord Jesus Christ. Maybe the things happening now aren't enough for some of you to believe but when Jesus returns, there can still be redemption if you live through disease, old age, every day accidents, riots, crime etc. to see the day but that's taking a lot of chances, if you're going to wait until that day then this is the prophecy of when Jesus returns "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." (Matthew 24:29 - 31). The dead sea scrolls were found some years ago and are amongst the oldest artifacts to be found, they are part of the bible (the book of Hebrews I think) so scrolls that old show proof of a book that prophecies of kingdoms of man falling into financial difficulty, rioting, problems with Israel etc. and these things are happening today, the euro is failing, countries are rioting, Israel are constantly being attacked by Iran. The best thing you can do is ready the Holy Bible maybe the New King James version and as you read through it, question it and look for the answers. Join other bible readers so they can point you to places in the bible where it answers your questions. Where's the harm in a couple of hours a week to sit down and read? Don't be stubborn because you think we have been brainwashed or something. If you're still not convinced after reading and questioning (it will take time) then you'll just have to wait until Jesus returns and then you'll look back and think...
And by the way, hell isn't some fiery torture pit the bible refers to it simply as the grave. That's all it is. There is no devil/satan with a tail and pitchfork who is an angel thrown out of heaven because for a start, angels cannot defy God it's not possible which is why in the bible it says that humans that believe, have been baptised and have been saved will be higher than the angels. That's because we've been given a choice and have had to go through temptation after temptation. Basically the devil is temptation - not a being of any kind - just temptation. As you can see there, the bible answers itself e.g. Why and how did an angel defy God and become the devil and why didn't God get rid of it? Angels cannot defy God, we have to resist temptation and can choose whether or not to believe in God and follow his word which is why we will be higher than the angels in the Kingdom the devil is just temptation and God hasn't got rid of temptation because we have a free choice to follow God or go with the world.

Sometime around 2033ish I'm guessin. There's a few Scriptures that point to His return about 2000 years after His death. He will return though, be it hard to believe. Maybe you nay-sayers should look into the scientiffic reasons to believe in a recent Creation and Noah's flood so that you will believe and be ready for Jesus' return, or your own death for that matter. You'll be sorry if you don't.

Yes i do think the time of Jesus is very near and before the time that everybody think 2012. I started to really read and study the bible and Rev 16 - The Seven Bowls of God's Wrath is happening now and other's already happened. The seasons turned to terrible lightning storms, earthquaks outbursts of vulcano's. Last year is S.A we had big heal electrical storms. It certainly seems like He would be coming sooner rather than later. Given that I am only 39 and how quickly the world has changed in my lifetime, I think its very possible that He could return sometime in the next 50+ years, if I live that long.

Both the Old and New Testaments declare that the resurrected Lord will rule from His throne in Heaven over all heaven and earth, "until His enemies are made His footstool". I'm afraid that disputes the comon perception that Jesus COULD return at anytime.

While there is historical evidence of the existence of other "players" in the Gospels and New Testament, the only documents that say Jesus existed are faith-based, "holy" texts (those in the Bible, or at one time considered for it).
There is no concrete proof -- like say, a non-biblical account from a Mediterranean historian of that era -- that Jesus ever existed.
If he did not even walk the Earth the first time, a return is of course impossible.

It's been 50 years since a Bedouin youth named Muhammed edh-Dhub went looking for a stray sheep and instead found the Dead Sea Scrolls. In the intervening decades, the scrolls have been enveloped in a storm of controversy and bitter conflict: the scholars entrusted with translating and editing the texts sat on many of them instead, creating suspicions that escalated to conspiracy theories about supposed cover-ups of sensitive, even damaging material. Geza Vermes, a former professor of Jewish studies at Oxford and a noted authority on the scrolls, marks the 50th anniversary of Muhammed edh-Dhub's find with his book The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English; the title, however, is misleading, for the collection of documents is by no means complete.
Vermes has left out the copies of Hebrew scriptures that are available elsewhere, instead focusing on the sectarian writings of the Essene community at Qumran and the intertestemental texts, and these are indeed complete translations. Vermes has also included an overview of five decades of research on the scrolls and a thumbnail sketch of the Qumran community's history and religion.
