Second Date Ideas

One place that always goes down well is something different. You don't have to be an experienced rock climber to take your date to an indoor rock-climbing venue: most of these places have a pretty good restaurant attached to them and, if your date does agree to try the fun of rock-climbing, you can always hire the necessary equipment, from the shoes to the chalk. She or he might like bowling, swimming, or just walking your dogs in the countryside or along the seafront. Go to a museum - there are plenty of interactive ones these days which can be quite fun because, as you start to enjoy yourselves, your self-consciousness will slip away and you will both find out whether you are going to carry on getting along.

Work out your second date ideas from the profile of your partner's interests. She or he must have given some indication of his or her interests when you met up last time - after all, you must have talked about something. You could, of course, email your date and ask what he or she would like to do. What you don't want to happen is to meet up and each of you offering to do what the other wants to do - neither of you know each other well enough for this to work out well. Second date ideas should be similar, in a way, to first dates - in a public place, light-hearted, fun and relaxed.

Second date ideas are quite challenging because you know so little about each other, but making a second date during the day-time is a far more inspiring idea than an evening date. Why do I say that? Quite simply because, if you arrange to meet at, say a railway station, and take your date to the local pottery, or craft centre, or even the zoo, and you both find you are enjoying each others company so much, your date can naturally run over into the evening when you can offer to take him or her out for a meal to prolong your date. If, however, the second date is becoming tedious, you can apologise profusely at around 4pm and tell your date that you really must leave because your parents/older sister/cousin/grandma is expecting you for tea and you had promised you would put a new shelf up in their bathroom!
