Getting started is the hardest part. Once you get the basic principles down it starts to make a whole lot more sense. Trust me I've been there. I played guitar for about 5 years before it started to make sense and that happend to be after I took lessons. I kind of knew how to play the guitar but, after I took lessons everything just started to make so much more sense. I wasted years doodling around on the guitar when all I needed were some lessons.
