Self Catered Accommodation in Morzine

This 2 Bedroomed apartment can comfortably sleep 6 adults, owing to the large bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) and a double sofabed in the sizeable lounge. There's also a folding bed in the 2nd bedroom, ideal for children. There's also plenty of communal space, and seating around the lounge and dining table for 7 or 8 people. There's a bathroom, with over-bath shower and laundry facilities, as well as a separate WC. Off-street parking, a garage and ski locker, allow you to keep all your equipment, the trappings of an activity holiday, tucked away from the main living areas.

A real feature of this property is the far-reaching views. Looking out from the wraparound balcony, ideal for enjoying breakfast, you look across the town to the Pleney slope, with the valley extending towards Prodains on your left, and Les Gets in the distance, to your right. In the summer months, you also have the benfit of a large, outdoor communal pool. Surrounded by lawn, it makes an ideal spot to realx after a days mountain biking or white-water rafting, and enjoys sun long after the town has slipped into shade.

Morzine is most famous for being one of the major resorts comprising the largest ski area in the World ... the Portes du Soleil. Staying here affords you access to over 650km of groomed pistes, as well as numerous off-piste bowls and trails. Uphill facilities are bang up to date across the whole area, and you can even venture into Switzerland via the top of Avoriaz (which ajoins Morzine). There really is enough to keep you coming back for more, and you can easily spend a whole week in the region without riding the same pistes twice!

As well as on-mountain activities, you can take advantage of a whole host of other sports and recreations, such as Paragliding, Ice Skating and Sledging, which takes place on the Pleney slope. Hire facilities are in abundance in Morzine, and you'll have no problems getting all the gear you could need, for very reasonable prices.

Morzine enjoys a great many days in the sunshine throughout the summer months, and you're right in the middle of all the outdoor activities you will need. There's an outdoor heated swimming pool in both Morzine and Avoriaz. Paragliding continues through the summer months and you will often see the blue sky scattered with 'chutes, as they descend towards town from the upper Route D'Avoriaz (a 5-minute drive up the road from the Apartment). White Water Rafting is very popular, from a few centres along the road from Morzine to Thonon, on Lake Geneva (Lac Leman), and one great way to spend an afternoon is to ride the "Summer Luge", a concrete bobsled run on which you ride 1-seater sleds down the Pleney. It's great fun (see the video below)!

Morzine in summer is perhaps most famous, though, for Mountain Biking. The Portes du Soleil offers a massive 380km of trails, and draws bikers in their thousands every year. Our apartment is incredibly popular with Mountian Bikers, for 3 reasons:

1. It's on the Route D'Avoriaz. Coast down the hill at the end of the day, and pull into your apartment on the way!

2. The garage has ample bike racks, to securely store your bikes.

3. The swimming pool is the ideal place to congregate and dissect the days adventures over a cold beer.

Your stay is made all the more comfortable, by providing everything you'd expect from a quality self catering apartment. All the facilities are there; Hob, Oven, Fridge Freezer, Microwave, Washing Machine, TV, Plates, Dishes, Cups and Glasses, Cutlery, all the Food Preparation tools, Corkscrew/Bottle Opener etc. You'll also find fresh Towels and Linen on arrival. The property is fully maintained, so in the unlikely event of a problem with any of the white goods, electricals or plumbing, you'll be able to get in touch with someone straight away. Bedding is also provided for the lounge sofabed, and the hallway means you don't need to disturb anyone in the night, should you need to use the facilities!

If you're using a car, the parking is ample for all residents, and use of the garage is there (provided you've not filled it with bikes!). A ski locker is on hand to store all your mountain gear, and there's a lift, should you have any need for it, though we're only one flight of stairs up.

Rates vary from just £400 per week in some Summer months, to £1,200 for the weeks of Christmas and New Year.
