My Experiences with SendEarnings

SendEarnings is a paid email site, very similar to Inbox Dollars. It's being heavily promoted right now, so I thought I would give people the benefits of my experience with this program.

Send Earnings Reviewed

Money is good. I like money. Where is it?

SendEarnings is a paid email site that I signed up for a while ago. The premise behind SendEarnings is that you can get paid for reading emails. Since I am one of many people trying to get paid any way I can, I decided that if SendEarnings wanted to pay me to click on an email and read it, I would be happy to take their money. One of the big hooks with SendEarnings is that they promise to pay you $5 when you sign up. Who wouldn't want $5, right?

With SendEarnings I started to get that sinking feeling right away. You know, that feeling you get when someone invites you to a birthday party, and when you arrive there with your expensive present, you find yourself walking away with a paper plate of greasy chips and a small sliver of stale cake? Yeah, that feeling.

About that $5...

What do you mean, I can't have it yet?

I will probably never see my $5 from SendEarnings, because when I tried to collect it I was informed that I couldn't withdraw anything until my account reached $30.00. I believe that SendEarnings misleads people by saying that they will pay them $5 to sign up, because there is no way in the world that most folks will stick around pushing buttons for SendEarnings until they accumulate $30. Why is that, you ask?

Two Cents per Email

...and click, and read, and click, and read....

That's right; SendEarnings pays you to read emails, just like they say they will. Two cents a pop. I've been getting about two emails a day from SendEarnings. At 4 cents per day, how many days will it take me to reach that magical $30 so that I can get paid? Let's see, 25 days for one SendEarnings dollar. 25 x the 25 dollars I need to accrue = 625 days before SendEarnings actually has to cough up a single penny. I have to say, the idea of spending close to two years clicking open advertisements like a trained monkey for SendEarnings does not fit any self-image I wish to cultivate. And of course, there's the ...

Spam, spam, spam, spam

Spam, spam, spam, spam

You've got it; since I signed up for SendEarnings I have discovered that I cannot delete the spam from my inbox fast enough. Yesterday I got 30 new messages, with another 30 caught in my spam filter. Do they all come via SendEarnings? Probably not, but the spam situation got exponentially worse after I signed up.

More Than One Way to Skin a Cat

Unless the cat really, really refuses to be skinned...

With SendEarnings there are some ways to get to that $30 sooner than the two years it would take you to click on all of those emails. SendEarnings offers to pay you $5 for each person that you refer to their site. The thing is, my experience with SendEarnings doesn't make me want to bring my friends and family into the fold. I think it would be kind of cheesy to let SendEarnings exploit my peeps for 5 bucks a head. And by the way, you only get your $5 after they reach their $30 and cash out. I might suggest that you not hold your breath...

Another way to increase your account balance to the point where SendEarnngs would actually cough up some cash for you is to complete some of their sponsor offers. These include:

  • Expressing an interest in credit card deals, car insurance, and online universities who will, once they get your information, drive you almost insane with their plaintive pleas for your attention. For this loss of your peace of mind, SendEarnings will put from fifty cents to two dollars into your "account."

  • Completing surveys for one dollar apiece. This would rapidly decrease the amount of time it takes to reach your $30 cashout, unless you are like me, and never seem to fit their approved demographic. After 60 days of attempting to fill out surveys for them I only succeeded three times. At that point I simply gave up, because apparently very few of their sponsors want to know what a 48-year-old African American urban female might be thinking. I guess I'll have to find an unpaid method of getting my opinion out...

  • Book of the Month Club and Columbia House, where you are committed to additional purchases. For example, you can get $15 for signing up for Columbia House, and you will be committing to pay $19.95 each for five additional DVD's over the course of a year.

  • Free trials, like Napster or Stamps.com, which will end up charging your credit card unless you remember to cancel the trial in time. The seven-day free trial from Napster will get $3.00 into your SendEarnings "account." If you forget to cancel, you will be charged $12.95.

I think that if you want to play this kind of Russian roulette with your charge card you could do much better at Project Payday. Users there will pay you immediately for filling out these offers, while SendEarnings takes at least a month to send you a check - after you hit your $30 target, that is.
  • My Recommendation

At about the same time I started with SendEarnings, I also stumbled across IPC. The difference has been like night and day. I was nervous because it required money upfront - $200 - but when I did the research no one had anything bad to say about it, so I jumped in. I have to say that I've had to do some work with IPC, but I've learned a lot, too. I don't expect IPC to make me a millionare, but I'm very happy to settle for a steady and relatively automated income stream. To me, IPC is the kind of party where there's plenty of cake, and punch, and they feed you dinner first, and when you get home with your goodie bag it's full of happy surprises. If you want to check it out, here's my site: SweetProfitsFromHome

Should You Sign Up for SendEarnings?

    Chasing A Mirage

With SendEarnings, the expensive gift you bring to the party is your time and attention. For me, clicking emails and deleting spam while SendEarnings dangles the ever-receding promise of payment in front of my eyes is not worth it. There are much better ways to spend my time. I've already decided that SendEarnings will never have to disgorge my five dollars.

I'm not prepared to call SendEarnings a scam, but in my experience it does lead people on and take advantage of them. While browsing numerous forums devoted to this site, I have found a disquieting number of users who said that as they approached their cashout level, they found their accounts mysteriously deactivated; to be fair, there were also folks who said that they actually banked their checks. Naturally, people who feel cheated are much more likely to post online, but the sheer number of unpaid, unhappy SendEarnings customers seemed a bit alarming.

Unfortunately, folks will continue to sign up with SendEarnings because it is so heavily promoted, but if enough people check out this SendEarnings review before they waste the precious commodity of their time, I'll be glad that my experience wasn't wasted.

thanks for your review, i have been taking surveys with sendearnings even referring friends but now i have second thoughts. Especially when you said that you heard stories of people having their accounts deactivated when they get close to 30 bucks. I thought it was very little money taking surveys with them but i have a lot of time on my hands at work and was willing to do it anyway. Now that hear my 30 dollars isn't a guarantee its just not worth doing.

I've been with SendEarnings for about two weeks and have made about seven dollars. I was confused and eventuially came to the conclussion that not every email from SendEarnings you get paid to read. As it turns out (I think) only the email that when you click the link in it and on the page your taken to has to have the link. If it doesn't, than you don't get your two cents and SendEarnings wins.

I'm receiving my first paycheck from send earnings - when you get to $30.00, they deduct $3.00 for a processing fee and schedule it to process over a month later. I think their main agenda is for you to purchase from their sponsers, because I don't get many surveys from them. My understanding is that they process their checks at the first of the month, then when you receive your first check you move up to some gold level, where you get more emails, surveys and other opportunities to make money at a much quicker pace. I hope that's the case.

Totally agree... I have a lot of sites that I signed up for only to let them die out because the hassle was way more than the pay out... and who in good conscience would sign their friends up for that trap... That's a way to loose a lot of friends. Really enjoyed your review and your "all money isn't good money" mentality. Great job!

Really honest and detailed review of SendEarnings and great suggestion on the IPC program as well. I've heard lots of great stuff on IPC before, so I'm sure it's a legitimate home business. Btw, thanks for visiting my lens. 5 stars for you!

Nice review. I also had a bad experience with such website. It's called numenmail. I have subscribed and had earned for more than USD9,000. I had requested for a payout (minimum usd8,888) for more than 4 months ago but yet to receive the fund.

It's really hurt! I had spent a lot of my time but it's just a waste!

Thanks for your review of Send Earnings. The key to expediting your check earlier is to play the games, do offers and get referrals. Have you heard of Inbox Dollars? I've received checks from Send Earnings, Inbox Dollars and Project Payday. It's great as well you have a review site, but get the people reading your review site to sign up. The more referrals, the more money, the quicker the earnings. For all my opportunities, go to http://jentaprises.blogspot.com

The payout seems imposible, but the reward does come with your members under you. I am not getting rich with this, but every now and then I get to finance a odd-ball adwords campaign. There are 5 good ones and SendEarnings is one of them. My experiance. Min. $3.00 a day times 5 seperate programs 30 days equals $450 a month for google to get from me. You see where I am going with this. I have been promoting these 5 programs hard in exchanges and about to reach over 1000 sign ups. My only concern is if I am going to find a limit.

    Very interesting post.
It's a good idea when joining any of these sites to set up a separate email address just for them.
You can have as many as you like with Gmail.
    Good luck.
