Should We Eat Like a Caveman?
Ranked #1,745 in Healthy Living, #36,799 overall
What is the Scientific Community Saying about the Caveman Diet?
What did early mankind eat?
Scientific research shows, according to studies, that Cavemen, or men in early times were eating a lot healthier than most Americans today. This is according to research into the ancient hunter-gatherer diet.
These people ate primarily vegetables, fruit, nuts, roots and later, meat was added to their diet. Note there are different versions of this program, so you are not totally limited in your choice. The main consideration is this program is much more natural, back to basics and of course it is not a processed diet.
Today, these healthy staples have been almost entirely replaced with refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and cereal, breads, including all types of refined grains, potatoes and pasteurized milk products - which do nothing for our health at all. In fact just look at all the health issues such as obesity, diabetes, allergies, abnormal blood sugar, heart issues, and the list goes on and on. Am I saying that the majority of health issues are caused by diet. Yes I am. Do the research yourself.
For a very good reason many people are very interested in what works with weight loss. This material will contain information about some celebrities that are using the Caveman Diet, and getting good results with it.
This diet goes by different names as you will learn below. For the wonderful version that I use - note my own personal story and the link to it below.
If you learn the benefits of Eating Like a Caveman - know that you can do it too.

What the Experts say about the Caveman Diet
These experts base their findings on early "Hunters and Gatherers"
Dr. Loren Cordain, author of The Paleo Diet and considered to be one of the world's leading experts on Paleolithic nutrition, took a look at what they ate, and decided that they had very good nutrition.
Also, Dr. Steve Nugent designed the diet called: The Genetic Key Diet. It is based on a person's genetic type, and it is low glycemic. With this diet he has helped a multitude of people to normalize their bodies. He also bases his program on studies of hunters and gatherers.
Today we have a tremendous lack in good nutrition, even though we have an abundance of food in, fast food, T V dinners, Take Out, and processed foods.
That abundant type of food is not creating good health for us.
The Cost of Health Care Today
Health Care is Crazy - Outrageous
Yes the cost of health care today is Crazy --Outrageous
Our Diet is what is causing so many of today's largest health issues. (sorry about the pun)
Yes, it causes us to be overweight and obese. But there's so much more to consider.
If you want to avoid or reduce your chance of dealing with the heartbreak of cancer, type 2 diabetes or Heart disease, learn what to do right now.
There is a direct correlation between our diet and excess weight around our middle or waist to our health, our condition.
How much could you save in not only bad health and misery - but in actual dollars by improving your diet, and the diet of your entire family.

How are You doing with Your Modern Day Diet?
Learn how our modern diet affects our C-Reactive Protein or CRP
Gluten, a protein found in grains such as wheat, rye and barley, wreaks havoc in people with Celiac disease, triggering an immune reaction that damages the small intestine and prevents absorption of nutrients.
Large numbers of people, perhaps even the majority of the population, are adversely affected by gluten on some level, although most of them do not have full-blown celiac disease, just a lesser form of gluten intolerance.
Grains and sugars are pro-inflammatory and will worsen any condition that has chronic inflammation at its root -- and not just inflammation in your gut, but anywhere in your entire body.
Just check your C - reactive protein (CRP) to see how much inflammation you have in your body.
When your CRP is elevated-you have a high level of inflammation, and you have any number of health issues.
In fact, if you want to avoid heart disease, (check with the American Heart Association),high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes or even cancer, you will want to severely limit your grain consumption, or avoid grains entirely.
Dumping sugar into the system with all the refined sugar and grains does not lead to fitness. It does lead to adrenal fatigue, and makes you feel tired with no energy most of the time. People try to gain energy with sugar and caffeine which is like beating a dead horse. It makes perfect sense to learn how to eat properly.

The Paleo Diet: Lose Weight and Get Healthy by Eating the Food You Were Designed to Eat [Paperback]
by Loren Cordain 4 stars- 118 customer reviews
According to author Loren Cordain, modern health and diet problems didn't start with the advent of packaged snack food, but much earlier--back at the dawn of the agricultural age many thousands of years ago. As humans became less nomadic and more dependent on high-carbohydrate diets, we left behind the diet we had evolved with, which is based on low-fat proteins and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Sugars, fats, and carbs were rare, if they were present at all, and survival required a steady, if low-key, level of activity.

Let me begin by saying that I am a 100% believer in the paleo diet/ caveman diet concept. I am a national-level olympic weightlifter and have tried every combination of high/low carb/fat diet to find something that allowed me to stay in the same weight class as I got older. The only thing that has ever worked is the paleo diet. .......................

A Seriously Vital Fact:
If you want to avoid heart disease, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes or even cancer, you will want to severely limit your grain consumption, or avoid grains entirely.
Did Cavemen get heart disease, diabetes and Cancer?
Of course during the Paleolithic period our ancestors died, but they didn't die of heart disease, diabetes and cancer, which are among the leading causes of death today. Additionally, all these health problems are related to our diet.
The statistics show about 75-80 percent of ALL people benefit from avoiding grains, even whole sprouted grains, whether you have celiac disease, gluten intolerance or neither of those conditions - your body (my body, anyone's body) is simply not designed to eat the high levels of processed grains so common in our diet today.
The same holds true for pasteurized dairy products. Drinking pasteurized milk is frequently associated with a worsening of health, and this is largely due to the pasteurization process itself.
Note what one expert tells us:
"Pasteurization destroys enzymes, diminishes vitamin content, denatures fragile milk proteins, destroys vitamin B12 and vitamin B6, kills beneficial bacteria, promotes pathogens and is associated with allergies, increased tooth decay, colic in infants, growth problems in children, osteoporosis, arthritis, heart disease and cancer."- From Sally Fallon of the Weston Price Foundation
Raw dairy products, which have their fats, enzymes and probiotics intact, are generally much easier to digest and are associated with health improvements, rather than harm. (I think we need the improvements.)While raw dairy did not make an appearance into humans' diets until much later in history, it is a much more natural food than the pasteurized products so widely circulated today.
Please Note This Important Fact:
Grains and sugars are inherently pro-inflammatory and will worsen any condition that has chronic inflammation at its root -- and not just inflammation in your gut, but anywhere in your body.

Liz Hurley and other celebrities are Keeping Their Healthy Svelt Looks with the Caveman Diet
Check out some of the celebrities that follow a version of the Caveman Diet
To live a Healthier Vibrant life, learn to eat more like a caveman, or a hunter and gatherer. It is much healthier for all of us-at least if we choose to be healthier.
Of course how you eat is your own choice, so do what you wish.
I wrote this primarily for those who realize that our modern diet or SAD, the Standard American Diet is sadly lacking, and desires to be educated to improve their health by applying what they learn.
Hunting and gathering worked in earlier times, but the "hunting and gathering" of the 21st century is hunting down what is the best diet for you, and then "gathering" the foods you need to satisfy your own vibrant health. Living in this modern world today includes agriculture taken over by large companies, along with huge amounts of food processing; today our "hunting and gathering' still takes quite a bit of work.
Liz Hurley has reported that she has done well on the Caveman Diet. What did she eat?
What did she eat?
She was able to eat:
- meat (mainly organic - with liver and kidneys, also chicken and fish -without salt);
- eggs;
- fruit;
- vegetables (in particular root crops - carrots, turnip, parsnip and others, except potatoes);
- some nuts (Brazilian, walnuts, almonds);
- berries - strawberries, bilberry and raspberries, etc.
As stated, it is your choice. I wish you well in "Hunting and Gathering" for you and those you love.

Jason Statham Used one Version of the Caveman Diet to become cut for his movies
Olympic Diver to Buff Actor with the Caveman or Paleo Diet
Jason Statham was an Olympic diver, now he's in movies. He used the caveman diet or paleo diet to get into shape for his new movies.
The exact diet regime Jason followed is called the 'paleolithic diet' - also known as the paleo diet, or caveman diet.
Jason Statham's Diet Plan:
It's one version of the Caveman or Paleo Diet.
-> Jason credits his rapid weight loss success mainly to his strict diet plan, which ended up being around 2,000 calories per day.
-> He avoided refined sugars, flour, breads, pastas and booze like the plague.
-> Just like with his workout routine, Statham recorded everything he put into his mouth. This makes it literally impossible to screw it up and if he wasn't losing enough fat, it'd be easy to figure out why.
-> He drank a lot of water and consumed 6 small meals per day, focusing on the typical lean body foods, like egg whites, veggies, lean meats, whey protein shakes, raw nuts and fish. Desert would often include fat free yogurt with mixed fruit added for flavor.
The Primal Blueprint Cookbook: Primal, Low Carb, Paleo, Grain-Free, Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free
5 Star-107 Customer Reviews
All my readings and life experience (previously working for five years in a natural foods co-op) have now finally converged on the Primal diet lifestyle as the common sense approach to nutrition (and, for me, backed up by the well-researched book, Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes).
I've bought a lot of cookbooks on my journey to a more healthy diet. And some of those cookbooks seem to be comprised of recipes that were conceived purely on theory and not at all on taste (cough..Atkins..cough).
I knocked out 5 of the recipes in the Primal Blueprint cookbook in a week and a half, and every single one of them tasted FANTASTIC. Even my wife and two children, whom I'm slowly trying to wean from their highly-refined carbo-centric tendencies, raved about the recipes I cooked (e.g. Moroccan chicken, Transylvanian stockpot, Coconut ice cream, zucchini frittata...) These are not people who like the taste of real vegetables. My wife said, and I quote, "That cookbook is best money we've ever spent. I can't believe how good this tastes."
Clearly, the recipes were tested and refined by an actual person who knows the taste of good food. Thank you, Jennifer Meier.
Also, I have a son who is Type 1 diabetic. We noticed that the meals I cooked from this book had a very low effect on his post-meal blood sugar. No huge post-meal spike and less insulin required at mealtime. That in itself was worth the price of admission. Cookbooks like this show him that he can eat delicious meals that do not adversely affect his blood glucose. He will need this knowledge to cope with his diabetes when he ventures out on his own (he's 10 right now). .................
My Own Experience and Success Story
I Teach the Kissing Cousin to the Cave Man or Paleo Diet
Now for my own experience with the Caveman Diet. First that is just a name, and there are many versions of this program under many different names. Another one is the Paleo Diet, another one is the Paleolithic Diet, and there are a few others. They are all based on hunter and gatherer studies, and take us back to basics. Of course there are differences in each program
I learned about this program a while ago when I read a book by a very astute doctor. His name is Dr. Steve Nugent. The book is called the Genetic Key Diet. I knew him from many lectures and trainings, and knew him to be very smart and to translate that into helping others. I wasn't able to apply the book into my life without help, so I learned about a coach who was teaching his program. I took the class-and my whole life changed.
She asked for goals and then for what my Reward would be. I set my goals the first week-and they have never changed. I knew what I had wanted my entire life. The final question after my goals was my Reward. I chose as my reward to be a great roll model and to train others to get the very same results.
In my first interview, I told my coach, Colleen I just could not lose one ounce of fat, yet I saw results so quickly, that the following month I enrolled and took a certification based on this program so I could also become a coach and teach this to others. I began my personal class June 15th, took my certification July 13 & 14th, and began teaching my own class in August. I was still in my original class! I have been helping others with this program ever since.
Like I said there are differences in each program. What was so unique about this program is that it is based on the Glycemic Index, which was not being used at the time, and also it took into consideration a person's unique genetic type, so that the program could be tweaked to each individual. This program actually works with the expression of your genes. I know you are learning more about genes all the time, but, yes we can actually turn our genes on or off. I have had my genes checked, and just love how this program affects the expression of my genes. This means that lifestyle or environment is just as important as the genes you are born with.
Why I Love This Lifestyle
I love my program. When you truly eat according to your needs your hunger disappears, and your cravings just melt away. This program is worth a million dollars, or since that amount of money is totally unattainable to me-it is just priceless. I have found what equates to vibrant health, as long as I do it.
I have continued with my health and wellness studies. I have also investigated the other versions.
Now people are beginning to hear about them and what fine results that can be achieved.
Be sure to check out My Glycemic Index Stories-link below.
For a copy of the program I use, either for yourself or as a gift of heath for a loved one, there is a link below written by a couple that took the same class I took. They did a great job of writing it in a form that is very easy to understand.

Excess Body Fat Isn't Only Excess Weight
I Want to Be Your Weight Loss Coach
If you would like the benefits of this fantastic program-contact me!
I teach a version of that diet lifestyle, and it is very healthy.
By using this program you not only find it easier to become the correct size for your body type, but it increases energy, regulates your hormones, you sleep better, you are able to reduce heart health issues, cancer, type 2 diabetes and even more.
That says a lot, and it is a lot less expensive when you consider the outrageous expense of medical care today. Not only the cost, but, when you are sick your focus is on getting well-as you are entirely too miserable to concentrate on much else. When you're well you may do anything your heart desires-as you feel fantastic.
Now, think about this: Champions got there because of their determination and then teaming that determination with a great coach.
Your weight loss coach must have already been where you are. Your coach must have had success in learning what works and what doesn't.
Your coach must care about your success; and that caring must be coupled with passion and enthusiasm.
You must have access to your coach for extra help, to answer your questions, and to tweak your program when necessary. Yes, sometimes it is necessary to tweak our program.
Your coach must also be your cheerleader- to cheer you on to success.
Your coach must be able to give you the right diet for you, and that is different for different genetic and body types.
Your coach must be able to teach you how to become more aware of cause and effect. Cause and effect is an important part of achieving success.
Your coach must also hold you to be accountable. Without accountability you will not accomplish your goals.
If this sounds like some of what you need, click on the link and check it out.
