I don't know I'm too new.... but I wish the mystery was solved!!!

Not sure I have an answer to this one, will suck my thumb a little longer and get back to you.

Interesting - I hadn't heard of this before. I'm going to check it out now!

I am going to ponder on this for a while, because I am not sure. I know I do it, but also agree with the others about the featured lens module. Do you think it helps or doesn't? Thought provoking pages is something I really like :0) Great question!
  • Oosquid Sep 17, 2010 @ 3:14 pm | delete
It's a link to another of your lenses . . . so I'd say it can only be a positive thing.
  • oneskms Sep 22, 2009 @ 3:24 pm | delete
I would say it helps, but to what degree I'm not sure.
I would also say, it is a positive help though

I tend to build sets of lenses and always lensroll those to each other. I also like to lensroll with other related lenses. Lensrolling was more fun when intro photos showed up on the right side of the page. The links just aren't as eye-catching. Hopefully they still provide a boost.

Great lens and a very good topic. 5*****. I really don't know. I do personally rarely look on the right side of a lens to see what it's lensrolled to, and if most other visitors are the same, chances are that seeing the link to a lensrolled lens is low, getting a visit even less. Whether lensrolling help with backlinks I don't know. I hope it does. Wish there was more feedback on this. I much prefer featured lenses, it makes a lens stand out much better. Problem again is getting a reciprocal featured lens link back.

I'm not sure, but I'm doing it anyway! It does make sense to me that you should link to related lenses, your own and those of others.

Hmmm, the million dollar question for sure! Well, it must help as it wouldn't be a feature -- that's what I think and I'm sticking to it!

I was lensrolling to Grey's Anatomy Izzy and Denny Stairway to Heaven. Did You Like Shonda Rhimes Reason for Ghost Sex? and noticed this other lens is #662 overall with no lensrolling or groups. So it makes me wonder.

Great lens Susan, I have never tried it, shows how new I am, lol. Might have to give it a go
  • Joan4 Jan 20, 2009 @ 12:20 pm | delete
Yep. I like Featured lenses better, but I do think it helps. It gives people another opportunity to find your lens. Why not lensroll? It only takes a second or two.
  • JustBon-Crochet-Designs Jan 19, 2009 @ 11:47 pm | delete
I'm sure it does some good...but the Featured Lens module is a better option for me :)
  • Jewelsofawe Jan 19, 2009 @ 12:27 pm | delete
This is a good question. I twittered an answer.

Great idea for a lens. I'm sure lensrolling must have a positive effect (at least not a negative one anyway) Presumably it adds a link that might be followed either by a human or a search engine crawler?

    Very Funny Linda! I did!
