Splitting at the Seams and couldn't be happier

In this super easy, super quick, sexy DiY (Do it yourself project) the sewing is optional. Tanks like these can't be found at any store or Mall (when I wrote this) so the mainstream crowd won't be wearing it anytime soon. It's great for layering, summer, or clubbing. Following the optional directions will make the tee shirt more professional looking at make it last longer while not following them just makes it look cool. Try this on a tee or tank that is a little too small for you to make it the perfect fit. The awesome thing about the tank is that it is adjustable due to the ties on the side. Just another Easy Bake do it Yourself Project to spice up your closet, brought to you by Scorpios Attic. Enjoy :)

WHAT YOU NEED::

Gotta have 'um to make it

1-Tank Top: Either one that fits you real good or is a little too small for you
2-Three (3) Yards Ribbon, or leather cording, (2)Two Shoelaces, cording, small rope, or whatever else of the like that you would like.
3-Scissors, Marker & Ruler: For the cutting of Fabrics, ribbon and such things of the like.Ruler for it's knowledge of measurements, the marker (of the washable sort) to mark them
4-Sewing Machine or thread and needle if needed. Surger recommended. All these optional.
5-Iron Also optional
6-Fray Stay Glue or Grommet and Tools. Also highly recommended for a better quality garment, but still optional.

WHAT YOU DO::

follow these instructions to get desired results.

1)Turn the Tank inside out. Keep it that way until further notice. Set on a Flat Dry Surface. Cut the side seams from the bottom to the arm holes. The back and the front of the shirt should be completely disconnected from each other, except for at the shoulders.

2)Fold the raw edges in about one(1) inch, Iron flat, and Sew. This will make the shirt stronger and more professional looking. It is of course optional, you can stick with the raw edges if you really want to, you little punk.

3)With the tank still inside out, mark a dot 1" down from the edge of the armhole, and 1/2" in from the edge of the front right side of the tank. Continue marking dots 1" apart down the side of the tank and 1/2" in from the edge. Repeat this on the three other sides.

4)Using the scissors, cut small 'nicks' in the fabric where the pen marks are. If using Fray Stay Glue or the Grommet Tool, follow those directions now. If not then it would probably be smart if you didn't.

5)Turn right side out. Thread your Ribbon (or shoe laces, or cording) through the holes just like you would a tennie shoe. (aka in a criss cross Fashion) Start on the top and work your way down to the bottom. Adjust to fit and either knot on the ends or tie into a bow.

About ScorpiosAttic

I am a DIY Junkie, I love Taking boring, old, mass produced Junk and turning it into something that expresses who I am, how I feel and what I like. I also have a slight addiction to making tee shirt designs. My brain is on permanent Shirt Design/ DIY mode. I've been on the look out for new ideas and inspirations for so long that it has become a subconscious act.
My stuff is always changing, just like me. I can't stay still for too long. I love seeing new places and trying new things... Which my DIYs and Designs Mirror.
I go through phases where I learn every little pointless little fact about something...and my Tee Shirts and DIYs usually end up reaping the benefits of it in some form or another. Past obsessions include everything Ireland (The Irish Revolution, the Great Famine, Bloody Sunday, The Druids) Classic writings from Brothers Grimm to Peter Pan to Arthurian Legend. I love learning about world Religions, present and past, I find them incredibly fascinating.
I've always got something going on. Rarely am I ever bored. And if I am it is because by some trickery I am found with a few spare minutes and no laptop...which is rare and nearly unheard of. I'm a Movie Hound, I love Music, don't have time for TV but I love LOST and catch up on the internet every so often. What else can I say? I love my life...I do what I love for a living.
