On Saturday, March 26, 2011, Sitesell reached a milestone on their Facebook page: 10,000 fans (or people who clicked the Like button). It took less than nine months from starting the page with only a couple of people posting there to getting to 10K likers. Now, on the Wednesday following that event, they are well on their way to 11,000 fans. Yes, I'm one of them. I was there celebrating with my own iBubbly when the counter rolled over. To celebrate, Sitesell held their first ever Buy One and Get One Free sale that didn't occur at Christmas. That's right. For 72 hours (extended to 96 hours at the last moment), new owners got two SBI subscriptions for the price of one. Lots of new people are now going through the SBI process, following the Action Guide, and planning their new online business. Welcome!

Sitesell's Blog

The Sitesell Blog offers highly-targeted, valuable information related to building an online business. What to do, what to avoid, how to focus, and more. Usually, the articles are written by Ken Evoy, Founder of Sitesell.

I've learned over more than ten years that I make more money when I follow Ken's advice. He has a track record of being successful as a medical doctor, toy inventor, ebook writer, and someone who knows how to put together the tools and procedures to help tens of thousands of us build our own businesses on a huge variety of topics.

Sitesell is privatizing some of their resources.

The Forum is being closed to everyone except for SBI subscribers. The 5 Pillar Affiliate forum is being split off into a new forum just for affiliates. The Action Guide will be made private in the near future.

Sitesell becomes the first company where all employees tweet on the company's Twitter account.

In mid-2010, Sitesell announced that all their employees are now tweeting on their corporate Twitter account. They have over 130 employees and almost all of them work from the comfort of their own homes and they are located in many countries all over the world!

From Ken Evoy, the founder, to Erin, the affiliate manager, and Daniel, the company president, to individuals working in support, training, marketing, forum management, programming, and even including the ever-elusive Help Elf, all of them can now tweet. They share insights about building better online businesses, some insiders' views of what's happening behind the scenes at Sitesell, and even include personal tweets. One of my favorites said something about a "massive Chihuahua jam" during his or her (don't remember) commute from the kitchen to the home office. (grin)

All employees tweet to the same Sitesell account and you can tell who's posting by the hashtag at the end of the post that has their name and department, such as #KenFounder, #ErinAffMgr, #DanielMgmt, and #HelpElf. You'll see people posting from all the departments at Sitesell.

I think this is a great thing for them to do and I'm enjoying following the Sitesell feed on Twitter.

Site Build It! version 2.0 Introduced

Last week, in October 2009, Ken Evoy announced the introduction of SBI version 2.

In many ways, it is the same SBI we have grown to know and love, but there are distinct improvements in several modules and more improvements are on the way.

Content 2.0 is now free!

Content 2.0 was introduced a couple of years ago and cost an additional $99 per year, on top of the $299 price of an annual SBI subscription.

With the introduction of SBI version 2, Content 2.0 (C2) is now free. That's like getting a hundred bucks off the annual subscription price.

What other company offers such great, continuing improvements without raising the price? What's more, Sitesell dropped the price of SBI version 2!

Brainstorm It! version 3.1

Now, we can set our own custom filters and save tasks in Brainstorm It! That means that we can research keywords faster and more efficiently. I've already set up several custom tasks that save me lots of time and tedium when brainstorming what I want to write about. This is a great improvement.

Cost? Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Brainstorm It! Version 3

Brainstorm It! has been one of my secret weapons for several years. It is the best keyword research tool I have found anywhere. Not only does it help us research and find the best keywords for the pages on our site, it also includes a database that stores all the keyword phrases we want to use in the future and helps us find information to write the best page possible for that phrase.

I thought I really liked Brainstorm It! version 2, until I started using the beta version 3 a week or so ago.

In mid-July 2009, Site Build It! rolled out version 3 of Brainstorm It! as the standard version and it is a huge improvement over the previous version. Version 3 is much, much faster and offers new tools to help us do an even better job of finding and using the right keywords to help our sites get found by people like you who search for what they need or want to know on the search engines.

Basically, Content 2.0, which was introduced in mid-August 2007, offers an easy way to add visitor interaction and participation on your site without having to deal with all the technical aspects.

Now, you can put up an invitation for your visitors to add their own stories and photos to your site - on topics you choose!

Other visitors can comment on these articles and even rate them.

There are thousands of ways this can be used, but it so new that only a few dozen Site Build It! Webmasters have added it to their sites.

As a Site Build It! webmaster, you have the option of using Content 2.0 to build your site or not. You get a free trial good for 25 submissions and then, should you decide to continue using this on your site, it costs $99 per year for unlimited submissions.

Now, you can build an interactive community on your site.

If it's not for you or your site, you don't have to use it and your SBI subscription will remain at just under $300 per year.

Right now, I'm brainstorming ideas for how I'm going to integrate Content 2.0 on my site.
