Is It Possible To Build My Own Small Homemade Wind Generator?

You may be wondering if it is possible to build your own Small Homemade Wind Generator. In our search for effective ways to save money on our energy bills most of us are now looking at wind power. Well, thinking in that direction is not a bad idea. Building your own small homemade wind generator is not only possible, but you will be surprised to find out it is also very cheap.

It is true that a wind generator will not work for everyone, but it is also true that building your own home wind generator will benefit most people. If you have a fairly open space or rooftop where your wind turbine can be in the direct path of the wind, you will be able to benefit from building your own small homemade wind generator.

Sometimes all you have to do is mount it on your roof.  You also need to keep in mind that one turbine won't be enough to provide all the power your house will need.  It will, however, be enough to save you hundreds of dollars on your utility bills.

Here Are The Three Basic Steps You Will Need To Follow In Order To Build Your Own Small Homemade Wind Generator:

1. Purchase a manual that has detailed instructions on how to build your Small Homemade Wind Generator. A good manual will be easy to understand and lay out exactly what you will need to do as well as what parts and tools you will need.

2. Go to your local hardware store and buy all the parts you will need to assemble your turbine. Costs vary from one part of the country to another, but in most cases the parts shouldn't cost you more than a few hundred dollars.

3. Assemble your small homemade wind generator. Depending on the amount of time you can devote to this project daily it could take anywhere from a day or two up to a week or two. It's not a difficult project to complete but everyone works at their own pace.

So now that you have a basic idea of what's involved in building your own small homemade wind generator, I hope you'll get started right away. The sooner you start, the sooner you can be saving a lot of money.

Will A Small Homemade Wind Generator Help Me Get Off Grid?

Are you wondering if a Small Homemade Wind Generator will help you to get off grid? If you want to have true freedom and be able to disconnect yourself from the big energy companies I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that by using alternative sources of energy you can get off grid.

The bad news is that one small homemade wind generator or one solar panel isn't going to be enough to do it.

If you can combine the benefits of wind power and solar power that is probably your best bet. The two sources of energy compliment each other very well. If it's night or rainy you may still have wind and if there's no wind you have a good chance of having sunlight.

Typically one small homemade wind turbine will generate about the same electricity as 5 solar panels so you would need fewer turbines than solar panels.

If you wanted to buy a turbine the cost would be prohibitive for most people, but you could easily build your own small homemade wind generator for around $200. The parts are standard items that you can find in your hardware store. The whole project shouldn't take more than a few days to a week max.

Just one small homemade wind generator is estimated to generate enough power to supply your home with about 60% of it's electricity needs and though that's not enough to free you from your utility bills it is enough to make a pretty big dent in that bill.

In order to get off grid you will need multiply wind turbines or you will need to combine them with other sources of alternative energy such as solar power. It can be done, but it will take some money to accomplish it.

It might be better to just concentrate on saving as much as you can on your utility bills by making more of your own energy by building a small homemade wind generator.

In my experience, since I have actually built a diy wind turbine in my backyard, I can say that it generates enough power to cut my electric bills in half. Definitely worth it and I have already seen a return on the investment. If you can do it and have the room, go for it.
