Smith & Wesson Knives

Smith & Wesson is well known for its guns. If you didn't already know, they make excellent knives as well. This page is dedicated to exploring and reviewing various knives they produce. All of them are great!

Smith & Wesson Military & Police MAGIC Assist Knives

As Close to Automatic as you'll see

The recently manufactured line of knives by Smith & Wesson named the Military & Police MAGIC assist knives are incredible. This knife comes with a side safety. These knives have a thumb stud on the spine of the knife that you pull down (towards the palm of your hand) and the blade pops out. And when I say pops, it really comes out fast. (Hint: if your knife doesn't come out fast, the screw at the top of the handle is too tight, loosen it just a quarter of a turn and your blade should come out as fast as expected).
These knives, named MAGIC, which stands for Multipupose Assisted Generational Innovative Cutlery, really do work like magic. They come in a variety of blade shapes. The series has three main classifications. Each classification has a different blade shape. All of the 1's are drop points, the 2's are scoop back, and the 3's are tanto points. Within each classification, there are a variety of blade edges, blade colors, and handle colors. The handle can be either black and grey or desert (a khaki tan color). The blade can be either satin or black. And the blade edges can be either plain edge or combo edge. The variety of choices means that you will easily find your favorite knife options in this fantastic knife series. I love mine. Get one of your own today at BladeOps.com .

Smith & Wesson ExtremeOps Series

Automatic Conversion Knives

The ExtremeOps Smith & Wesson series is awesome. These knives are originally made as button lock manual folders. Converted with a spring, they become button automatic knives. If you like the Boker Magnum series, you will love these. They come with a drop point blade of 440 steel or with a tanto blade. They also come in champagne color (silver) or in all black tactical. Each knife comes witha pocket clip and a safety.
This series of auto knives come with handles made of an anodized alloy. It has three indentations lengthwise on each side of the handle. This gives you a good solid grip on the knife.
The blade, as stated previously, is made of 440 steel and is razor sharp right out of the box. The blades can be purchased with a plain edge or with a partially serrated edge. They are both great knives. Get yours today at BladeOps.com .

Smith & Wesson Out the Front Knife

Spring Assist OTF

The new series of out the front knives from Smith & Wesson has a brand new style of OTF mechanism. You push on the slide button near the base of the handle and once you get the blade moving the spring takes over and the blade shoots out to a fully extended position. Once there, the blade locks up nice and tight. To close the blade again, you just pull down on the slider and lock it into place. This is an assisted open knife although it feels almost like an automatic. This very nice new series from Smith & Wesson is constructed with a stainless steel blade coated with titanium nitride, a black Zytel handle which gives it maximum structural strength with minimum weight. The series is made with three different blade tip options: Spear Point , Tanto Point , or Drop Point . Each of the knives has a sliding safety on the side of the handle as well as a pocket clip and a glass breaker. This knife is great at the price. It has the name of Smith & Wesson and the construction you would expect from them.

Smith & Wesson Speed Assisted S.O.R.T.

Small Knife, Big Performance

Smith & Wesson makes excellent knives at very reasonable prices. The S.O.R.T. series--Special Operations Rescue Team--fetures high quality materials, superb craftmanship, and a sophisticated design. This spring assisted knife has the ability to open super fast. Along the spine of the knife, it has a small lever. As you pull the lever towards you, the blade comes out fast and locks up tight. The knife comes in a satin aluminum handle version or an all black, tactical version. Either can be purchased with a plain blade or a partially serrated blade. It also comes in a larger size with a 2.5" blade. Both are very nicely sized for you pocket, purse, or anywhere else you may want to carry it.
This knife is one of my most favorite speed assisted knives. It is thin, lightweight and yet packs a punch. It handles big and small jobs and comes with a nicely textured aluminum grip that allows the user to hold the knife tight without the fear of slipping. The S.O.R.T series is a definite must for your collection.

Smith & Wesson Rescue Knives

Smith & Wesson has a new line of rescue knives that are fantastic. Shown in the picture below is the all black version with a normal blade shape. The other versions have a hook at the end of the knife blade to assist in cutting seatbelts and such. All of these knives are incredibly sharp and use the same M.A.G.I.C. speed assist opening system that has been so wildly successful with their Military & Police knife line. The spring assist feature makes it really easy to open--you just flick the flipper switch on the spine and the blade pops right open.
These knives all also have incredible strong spring loaded glass breakers in the handle butt. Very good. Overall, I rate this as one of the best rescue knives to have ever hit the market.
