Elenco Snap Circuit SC-300

Do you remember the Radio Shack 150-in-1 kits full of electronic devices, transistors and all these goodies? My memory is a tad foggy - it's been a while - but from I recall the Snap Circuits SC-300 certainly takes it to another level!

My soon-to-be six-year-old son just got one for his coming birthday and we've loved every second of playing with it!

I do remember looking at complex charts back in the day, not making much sense of it, and small parts breaking all the time.

Not with this one! The manuals are laid out beautifully. Clear directions, full color, everything is just well, perfect.

The snap connectors are so much more fun and rugged than the old spring connectors could ever hope to do. In fact, every piece of this kit is solid. I'm sure this fun and educational toy will last a long time.

Another point for its longevity is the 300 projects you can do with it.
And there's always the upgrade to 500 available :)

As the name implies, there are 300 projects to build with the Snap Circuits SC-300. Time-delay circuits, transistors and capacitors function, you name it. There are even some circuits showing how oscillators and photo sensors work. Other projects of notes include building a burglar alarm and a AM radio!

Believe me when I say it will keep both you and your child occupied for a while. They do advertise as a parent-child bonding present, and up to now I can say it sure is. So go for it whether for your own family or to make a perfect gift.

It's so hard to find a rugged, well designed toy in this day and age, heed my advice and go for it. You'll love both the toy and the quality time you're sure to get with your kid - or you're just to give if you intend it as a gift.

Oh yeah, don't forget to get some batteries - it needs 4 AA to run. I recommend rechargeable batteries.
