SoFo, the independents of Stockholm

New York and London may have their SOHOs, but Stockholm has its SoFo.

SoFo stands for South of Folkungagatan, an area on Sodermalm Island.

Three words describe the atmosphere there:

What's in SoFo ?

Young people, artists, and designers make their way to Södermalm to live and work, giving the area a very distinct character.

This is where independent visions of fashion, art, and form unite to create this eclectic atmosphere. SoFo is the place to find a variety of individual shops, young fashion, accessories, the best records, interior design and unique pieces.

Small restaurants and cafés enhance the SoFo charm and as you stroll along, you will also discover the many squares and parks scattered here and there.

The last Thursday each month is Party Time in SoFo!
Happenings everywhere! Mini live concerts, exhibitions, fashions shows, exclusive offers and it's just to start with... The shops are opened until 9 pm and it's a really fun way to spend the evening. Don't miss it, next is March 27th!

Very cool place where if you like them you can also buy the chairs or the table you're at.
Pelikan
An old place but very nice. Enjoy your beer with traditional Swedish meal.
Columbus Hotell
A very nice place to stay where all rooms are furnished with Swedish antic furniture. And the staff is awesome.

Tip

Swedes are quiet and peaceful people, but don't hesitate to start chatting with them: they're very helpful and very nice! Beside, they all speak English well.

    I am looking for a jewellry store in Stockholm - my girlfriend bought me an amazing bracelet made out of linked semi-precious stones, linked together with small silver chains and with a t-bar clasp. I havel, however, lost it and am keen to replace it. She can't remember the name of the designer or area but it was a designer who did this type of jewellry in lots of different colours and had her own store - it was a female. Can you/your connections suggest any designers that may be the one? I have checked out the two you have on the site but don't think that their work on their websites matches. Any help would be gratefully received.

Take the Tunnelbana green line, go out at either
- Medborgarplatsen,
- or if you fancy a walk:
Skanstull or Slussen.
