#SocEntChat: A Twitter Discussion About Social Entrepreneurship

#SocEntChats is a Twitter-based real-time discussion on social entrepreneurship themed around specific issues/areas/events each month. It is designed for current and aspiring social entrepreneurs, funders, media and supporters to share their ideas, discuss the state of the field, identify the latest innovations and pinpoint areas requiring more exploration.

#SocEntChats provides an opportunity not just for conversation but for connections leading to collaboration and impact. It will bring together a diverse range of participants who care about our future and are prepared to be part of the solutions towards a better world.

#SocEntChats is presented by Ashoka: Innovators for the Public (squidoo.com/AshokaSquid) and hosted by Ashoka social media guy Tom Dawkins (@AshokaTweets / @tomjd) and Change.org Social Entrepreneurship blogger (http://socialentrepreneurship.change.org) Nathaniel Whitmore (@socialentrprnr).

NB: The August #SocEntChat is taking place at a new time, to facilitate participation from Africa and India. It will run from 12-2pm US EDT rather than the usual 4-6pm.

Everyone is Invited!

If you are interested in social entrepreneurship in general or this month's theme in particular we'd love you to join us. If you're not yet on Twitter there are instructions at the bottom of the page.

#SocEntChat takes place on the first Wednesday of each month, 4-6pm US Eastern Time.

If you miss a month or want to check back on the highlights we'll put an edited transcript up as a Squidoo lens, linked to from this page.

If you have any questions, suggestions for future topics, ideas for guests etc please contact tdawkins at Ashoka dot org. Change is brought about by special people with new ideas. The #SocEntChat, or Social Entrepreneur Chat, on Twitter is a way for old, new and aspiring changemakers to collaborate and share their opinions on issues, ideas and events throughout the world.

Check back here after each chat for transcripts of the conversation.
