Soccer Training Drills - Positioning For Attackers and Defenders.
Understanding positioning fo attacker and defenders.
Attackers
The norm is to have two attackers taking on two central defenders. "Attacker A" should be the more powerful, stronger player, as he will be required to hold onto the ball and keep the ball away from the defender. Attacker B should be the quicker, agile player as he will have to move in to space for Attacker A to feed him the ball.
Defenders
The norm is to have two defenders marking two attacking players. The basic job of a defender is to stop an attacking player from getting the ball. If "Attacker A" gets the ball, "Defender A's" next job is to win the ball from "Attacker A". Should "Attacker A" get past "Defender A", it is the duty of "Defender B" to try and win the ball from "Attacker A", while "Defender A" covers the attacker, "Defender B" was marking.
It is important to explain this soccer training drill to your attackers and defenders, and help them understand the principle behind it.

Soccer Training Drills - Goalkeeper Drills.
Drills to get your goalkeeper agile and confident.
Because the goalkeeper is the last line of defence, it is critical that the person playing goalkeeper, be very agile and reacts quickly. Here is an agility drill to help you goalkeeper:
The Agility Drill
Make a set of goals with cones, wide enough to help him save most of the shots. The keeper will stand in between the cones, with 2 attackers on each side of the goals. The first attacker must shoot the ball, and make the keeper dive. Once the keeper has saved the ball, he must turn around and face the attacker on the other side of the goals, and in turn he will do the same.

Soccer Training Drills - Passing Drills.
A drill that will get your players passing the ball precisely.
Keep Away Drill
Three player are needed to do this drill. Make a small boundary, or field, with cones wide enough for the three players to run in. The object of this drill is to let two players pass the ball among themselves, while the third player tries to win the ball. When the third player wins the ball, the player who lost it, will swop with the third player.

Soccer Training Drills - Drills That Improve Dribbling.
Every player loves to dribble, and here is a great drill to help improve the skill.
Dribble Race
Make a straight line of 10 cones, with enough space for a soccer ball to be dribbled through them, in two rows. Make 2 teams and put each team behind a set of cones. The first players in line must dribble in an out through the cones, and back again. When a player gets back to their line of team mates, they will tag the second player in line, and he or she will do the same. You can set up a race between the two teams for some fun and competitiveness. Try make changes to the drill to keep it fun and entertaining.

Soccer Training Drills - Control And First Touch
Teach your team the basics of receiving and passing the ball.
Players are always competing for the ball. They should then be able to be able to have the time and space to use the ball effectively. Here is a drill you can implement:
Make a 10 by 10 yard area. There must be a group of three players. Two of the players will have a soccer ball and will be positioned on one side of the square. The player left will be on the opposite side of the square.
The one player with the ball passes to the third player on the opposite side. This player will receive the ball and will take the ball a couple of yards to the side. With the next touch the player makes with the ball, he will pass the ball back across the square with his other foot. The pair opposite switch places and repeat the action.

Soccer Training Drills - Shooting Techniques
Here are four great tips you can give to your strikers.
Every strikers most important skill they should have in their armoury is shooting for goal, and making sure they hit the target. To have your strikers effectively shooting at goal, a practise session should not only focus on shooting techniques, but helping them acquire the correct mental attitude. Here are a few pointers that you can give your strikers:
- Try shoot early;
- Try place the ball more that trying to shoot with alot of power;
- Make sure the strikers head is over the ball, and they are not leaning back;
- Try take a look at where the goalkeeper is postioned, and shoot for the most exposed part of the goal.
