What is social networking?

Social networking is still the most overlooked way of marketing yourself and your business for free. In addition, a solid online network is a source of knowledge and support for any kind of business. If you choose wisely you'll be able to contribute to the resource-pool as well as tap into cutting-edge knowledge and best-practices pertaining to your niche. Establishing your network now will still enable you to get ahead of the pack. Five years from now if you don't have an Internet-based social network you'll be a dead-man walking business-wise.

This Lens is still under construction but you'll soon be able to find:

Establishing your network, deciding which social media sites to join, finding people to link to, lifestreaming, social media marketing, reputation management, branding, Facebook, Twitter, Strands, FriendFeed, Digg, Del.icio.us, Reddit, Plurk, StumbleUpon, and more.

Here's what I hope you'll learn here

How to use online social media to establish a base for yourself, to find real friends, to promote your business and to grow your business.
