Wear Socks with Crocs

Wear Your Favorite Crocs Shoes All Year Long
Cool weather is here. Time to wear socks with Crocs shones. (I live in my Crocs shoes all year round.)
In the summer I enjoy my Crocs Cayman shoes. Next best thing to barefoot. They are easy to slip on and off, and have plenty of holes to help my feet breathe. I wear them so much I get a "dots" suntan on my feet in the summer.
The benefits of Crocs more than make up for that spotty tan. I live in them so I also appreciate that it is easy to wash my Croc shoes in the sink with a bit of liquid hand soap, then allow to air dry.
In the winter I have my Croc Mammoths. They have a fuzzy, removable liner that is washable.
Having trouble keeping your feet warm, but just cannot give up your favorite Crocs in the winter? Never fear, most Crocs are roomy enough to allow for your foot and a pair of warm socks.

The Best Socks for Crocs Caymans
Socks Work for Cold Weather Wear
The first winter I had my Crocs Caymans (before the Mammoths), I discovered socks with Crocs. After the fact, it seems like a no-brainer. I love going barefoot, and in cold weather, socks with crocks works for me in all but the wettest, snowiest, coldest weather. And this is in Michigan. My favorite pair of socks to wear with my Crocs is dark blue and they are washable wool. Wool is the best fiber, because it will keep your feet warm even if the socks get damp.
I've added several pairs of socks specifically to wear with my Crocs.
- I look for something on the thin side, so I still have lots of room inside the shoes.
- And I like some color that will look good with my navy Caymans.
- I also like wool or a wool blend for winter or summer.
Wool is a great fiber for wearability, and many of the modern blends can go in the washing machine.
If you want to wear a really thick pair of socks with your Crocs, get the next size up from the one your normally wear. You might also want to go to a store where you can try on the Crocs to test them out with your special pair of thick socks.

Choose Socks Based on How You Wear Your Crocs
Just look at how Mario Batali wears his orange Crocs and you know you can make a statement with them. Practical for a chef, too, though you have to get the right kind to keep you safe from spatters and kitchen hazards.I know. Orange Crocs are not everyone's cup of tea. But if you like to be comfortable and have some style, the various colors and models of Crocs, paired with the right pair of socks, can give you lots of practical comfort and style choices. After that, it just depends on personal taste.
- Bold colors can show off your feet, shoes and socks
- Pastel liners can keep everything understated, yet keep your feet warmer than sockless
- Sportswear socks can give your feet extra breathe ability as well as warmth
I like to be comfortable working around the house, out shopping and running errands, traveling in the car or walking around the block. Choosing the right combination of Crocs and socks helps keep my feet happy through any or all of these tasks!

How to Care for Socks with Crocs
Washable Socks Make a Practical Match
I get washable socks to wear with my crocs. I check this right after the fiber blend. Those net bags for delicate laundry are handy for washing socks, because they won't go to the far side of the washer, where they can be hard to reach when it's time for them to go into the dryer. To wash the wool and wool blend socks, I like Woolite. There is the regular formula, and one for darks.
The Mammoths have their own liners, so I don't wear socks with them. I have had a challenge washing the liners to get them to suit me. I am hard on them. Instead of cleaning them in the washing machine, I hand wash them in the bathroom sink.
- Remove the liners from the shoes using a crochet hook to take them off the buttons on the sides
- Soak the liners well in warm water
- Use a knobby wash rag, add soap, and get in there and scrub (insides only)
- Rinse well
- Use a thick towel to roll the liners gently to remove excess water, like you might do with a sweater
- Air dry
This is the best method I've tested so far to clean the Mammoth liners. Treat the outer covering with some care. This is a coating that helps the liner stay dry.
Crocs for Every Season and Reason
My Next Crocs - Cloud in Sea Blue
You Can Never Have Too Many Crocs
A friend of mine who has some foot problems loves her Crocs, too. She has just about got her podiatrist convinced, between the Cloud and the medical line of Crocs which include orthotic inserts. (Check out the medical Crocs shoes directly on the Crocs website. Haven't seen them on Amazon yet.)She has had a friendly agree-and-disagree conversation going with him about these shoes. He hasn't given her too much of a hard time, though, because Crocs are what gets her to wear shoes.
Like me, she loves the roomy toe box and the easy slip on and off. No more of those nasty blisters from tight shoes that rub. When you are not supposed to go barefoot, Crocs are the next best thing.
I've been keeping an eye on the Cloud model. It has fewer holes and more coverage on the sides and around the heel. This is to prevent harm to your foot from the inevitable (it seems) dings into foot-level hazards around the house. The color selection suits me, too.
This will be my fourth pair. Cannot have too many Crocs! These will be perfect to wear all year round, too, drawing on my sock collection.
Sock Monkey to Recycle Your Old Socks
After Wearing With Crocs, Have Fun as a Monkey Doll
Old socks never have to die. They just come back as sock monkey dolls or other kinds of rag dolls.
When I come up with another use for old Crocs, I'll do a lens on it. For the time being, I'm still wearing mine.

- Love Crocs! I used to wear them to work--nurses love them. I hear that some hospitals are banning them because of the holes could allow needlesticks or cuts if sharp objects were dropped. I have several pairs that I still wear although I retired more than a year ago.
Very interesting lens.

- I love my Crocs (and yes, I wear them in cool weather with socks)! At first I treated them like sandals and wore them for gardening and car washing type things, but they were so comfortable that I became a convert. Now I wear them year round with almost anything.

- I would live in flip-flops and Berkenstocks all the time if I could ... so I am going to have to give Crocs a try. Your description of the roomy box toe and the feeling of going barefoot makes me want to try them. And yes, I would wear them with socks.

- Used to be heels all the time. Now, it's Keds or Crocs. And Crocs are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I wear them with and without socks. :)

- Thanks! I loved hunting out these socks. I had no idea Amazon had so many choices, and these kinds of socks will go with many shoes based on their style, colors and practical features.
As a Crocs wearer, I think they will be around for a long time. I'm close to getting my fourth pair. And the medical-orthotic version they have on the Crocs site, I think there will be a lot of people who will love those. Anyone with foot problems knows how important it is to have a comfortable shoe, and I've found Crocs to be that.

- I haven't submitted to the Crocs craze yet, but my son has a pair of flip flops that I splurged on because he is hard on flip flops and they are really durable. Definitely worth the money! I also love the socks you have showcased on here! Great lens!
