Soilent Green: the Band
After the famed 1973 movie "Soylent Green" was released, the band Soilent Green was born in 1988. Thus it took it a 15-year incubation to be finally born.
Soilent Green is the grindcore, sludge metal band from New Orleans. And after listening to their 'heavy artillery' music you should know that they uphold their origin.

Soilent Green's History
Some music history of the Soilent Green Band
Though formed in 1988, their first album that launched them into lime light was released in 1995, when "Pussysoul" was released by Dwell Records. Afterwards Relapse Records released the following four albums. But by 2008, they had subscribed to Metal Blade records, and in that same year "Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction" was released. With this popular album, they toured all over and promoted it alongside Dethklok, Chimaira, and God Forbid.
However, like inexplicable and unwanted disasters plague all of us, they also had their share of hard times. The renowned bassist Scott Williams was killed accidentally by his roommate in April, 2006. Also, the singer Glen Rambo was killed by Hurricane Kathrina.
Nevertheless, there has been the good and fan-thrilling side to their music. By 2006, there misfortune was upturned; Soilent Green was featured in the Metal Maniacs magazine in an article that reflected on New Orleans metal scene, and they were also featured as one of the top 25 most influential band by Rolling Stone.

Soilent Green's Confrontation
Their latest release entitled: Confrontation
This year they were invited to feature in the popular "Adult Swim" show "Squidbillies," in the first episode of season three (overall episode 41) titled "Lerm". They performed the main theme of the episode in their grand metallic style.
However, after the prolong history of bad-good and good-bad. They have issued a release of their "Confrontation". The release is indeed a confrontation, with the thrilling and mind shuddering lyrics and instrumental; a bizarre expose for you into the incredible insight of metal music. They are back with the major cling clang in the metal world.
In this release, "Scarlet Sunrise" is the intro song, an instrumental music that sounds like a NASCAR event. "Leaves of Green" maintains the known traditional style of Soilent Green. I especially like "A Stream Trapped Underwater"; I personal see it as a mix between frantic rock and crusty hard rock; it will sure give your brain the melodious cling clang of the Metal. The best thing about this is that you do not need a lyric sheet to feel the metallic rhythm. The words will course through your mind like water poured into stainless steel cup, and will fill you up as that water fills the cup.
