Solar Power: Keeps The Environment Clean
Solar Heating Systems
Solar hot water systems make use of sunlight to heat up water and these systems are found in domestic appliances that heat domestic water or for space heating and are basically composed of solar thermal collectors as well as a storage tank. There are three types of solar water heaters that make use of solar power and these are active systems that use pumps in order to circulate water or to heat transfer fluids and the passive systems that circulate water or heat transfer fluid through natural circulation and are known as thermosiphon systems and the third type is the batch system that use a tank that is heated by sunlight, directly.Another use of solar power is in solar cooking where a solar box cooker traps the energy from the sun into an insulated box and these are useful in cooking, pasteurization as well as fruit canning and are in use in many developing countries to reduce the demand for firewood as well as to keep the environment clean. Solar lighting is another use of solar power where use of natural light to supply illumination is used to save energy and it offers physiological as well as psychological benefits.
There are also large scale uses for solar power as are in the case of solar thermal electric power plants where solar thermal energy may be used in heating a heat exchanger to high temperatures and the heat is then used in the production of electric power or for other industrial uses. Also, 'solar power technologies' may be classified as direct or indirect and normally, direct solar power involves a single transformation of sunlight in order to get energy that can be used and in such cases sunlight may be used to hit photovoltaic cells to create electricity or it may warm a thermal mass or it may strike a solar sail such as those found on spacecrafts and there are also many other means of deriving direct solar power. Indirect solar power involves multiple conversion of sunlight to obtain useable energy forms.
Solar Heating Saves Money
Heating a home can cost a significant amount of money. In fact, if you live in a large home in an area where the temperature has a tendency to severely dip in the winter, then you are probably going to have to pay significant money to cover the inflated heating bills that will be required to raise the temperature to a livable level. Or do you? The Solar Heating Alternative
The Psychology Involved
One of the impediments to having solar heating installed is psychological. No, this does not mean that there is some sort of extensive, sociological reason that creates some kind of impediment towards people accepting solar heating. The psychological impediment is much simpler than that. The reason that many people have trepidation towards employing solar heating is that it remains unknown territory for many of them. They will have an aversion to being "the first on their block" to have solar panels installed. No, this does not mean they fear that they will look different so much as they will be concerned if the move they would be making is the right move. Again, this is a psychological hindrance that can be stripped away by simply pointing out the following analogy. When a radically new form of home entertainment debuts such as HDTV, for example, people do not worry about potential problems with the system. On the contrary, they cannot wait until they can purchase the item! In fact, their main complaint is that they have to wait for a cheaper model! Solar heating panels are no different in the sense that they offer a radical new product that is an improvement over what has previously existed in its place.
Solar heating has the potential to be a huge money saver if given the opportunity. As such, it is definitely worth exploring and anyone who is seriously looking at alternative energy as an option for saving money should give serious consideration to solar energy and power for heating purposes.

Whilst solar power itself may keep our environment clean, the production of solar panels is actually quite an environmentally unfriendly process. Luckily, with the advent of organic solar cells we can expect solar panels themselves to become way cleaner as well!

Everyone needs to cop onto themselves and start doing something about their own environment. The more we push this kind of technology the better we will be...from every angle. We save ourselves a bucket load of money and do something for our children's future...It comes down to that...our children are going to suffer if we don't start getting real...Go for it dude

Your stuff is really help full. Should think about solar passive systems. Those not requiring PV cells. Using the sun to heat your potable water / pool / or for ac purposes or solar hot water. I like your lens.
While it doesn't help the argument for solar does anyone know about the environmental impact this push for solar will have?
