how to choose the right songwriting course
So you need a Songwriting Course! I did. Everybody can do with a little kick start sometimes or maybe just another perspective on doing things. A little additional inspiration goes a long way I say.
There is nothing better in this world in my opinion than the feeling you get after writing a song after taking a songwriting course than that feeling when someone says to you that they really enjoyed the song you've written!!!
I've chipped away for many years at the songwriting process and found that my style changes every now and then, however, the basic principles always remain the same.
You can stick around and listen to my Song Writing Tips or skip straight to the Songwriting Course.

Inspiration Goes A Long Way
Don't ever think for 1 minute that you are not inspired. Every little experience you have in your daily life is an inspiration to draw on. Think about this for a second. If you are still struggling then I suggest you visit How To Write Lyrics and see the process to free the mind and tap into the creative universe, so to speak.
Title, Structure And The Hook
So you are feeling inspired, you've written down a few feelings and emotions that you might have gone through during the day, week or month past. You now narrow it down and come up with one theme for your song and then pick a few words that come to mind that relate to the theme. You then write a list of 5 nouns or pronouns, 5 verbs and a list of arbitry words. Start mixing them up a bit and see what you come up with. I (noun) live (verb) forever .......not the greatest but you catch my drift.
Play around and see what you come up with but once you've got your theme and emotions down this shouldn't be a problem.
AAA - verse, verse, verse
ABA - verse, chorus, verse
ABACBA - verse, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus, verse
So you've got the idea as far as structure is concerned. There are no rules when it comes to songwriting. I've heard songs that don't actually have a chorus at all. Strange but true. See this page on Song Writing Tips.
The Hook is a catchy melody of music or a repetitive line or phrase in your song. It is what everyone remembers after they've heard your song. It sticks in their minds. It can be as simple as a little bassline. It always sticks.
