The Sony 52" BRAVIA® XBR® LCD Flat Panel HDTV
I had a look around for the best picture for a reasonable price and the Sony Bravia lined up with a number of it's competitors looked pretty good. The picture was sharp and it seemed quite good in keeping up with the games console they had there connected to the Sony.
So if you have a games console attached to your flat screen HD TV, I would recommend looking at the Sony Bravia with the Motionflow%u2122 technology.
My review, in a nutshell
It's like you now have to replay all those old games again. The closet analogy is like watching a current release movie on the tiny little screens on the QANTAS 747's on the way to LA and then watching the same movie on the big 52" HD LCD, why it is like going to a new movie theater or watching IMAX (I think you get the picture).
The Sony uses a Motionflow%u2122 120Hz technology, and it is only then when you can compare the performance is when you can see the sharpness of the Motionflow%u2122 with the quick moving images of a games console.

LCD HDTV Aspect Ratio
Understanding an HDTV's viewing size
You may have already seen terms here, such as "16:9 aspect ratio," and had no clue what it meant. Aspect ratio simply means "units high x units wide." So, a 16:9 HDTV is 16 units wide x 9 units high ("units" meaning the measurement of an original video production, a broadcasting term).Wide sets allow you to see widescreen movies in their "natural mode," without the letterbox crop bars. They also allow you to watch the older, non-narrow shows as well, albeit with the black crop bars on the left and right. Overall, the newer, wider 16:9 is the winner over the older 4:3 "standard" television screens for their breadth of view, and ability to watch older formats, as well!

What Does "720" or "1080" HDTV Mean?
It's all about the pixels
In contrast, a 1080 HDTV has 1080 pixels per line going vertically, with 1,920 lines going across, horizontally. In these cases, the 1080 HDTV set is the better of the two - since more pixels means more detail.
Note that the resolution and the actual size of the screen in inches are not directly related: therefore, a 22" 1080p HDTV and a 22" 720p HDTV can both exist (don't assume that smaller screens are always 720p!)
HDTVs are defined by the resolution (720 HDTV has 720 vertical pixels)

Another great review on the Sony Bravia
Deepest richest blacks that I've seen on a non-led lcd EVER!!!!
"Right out of the box I could not wait to hook this baby up. Don't hate, but I only have antenna. The digital tuner does a fantastic job making by free digital High Definition look outstanding. I set motion flow on high and it was very smooth. Football looks delicious.Visit HDTV Online
I got to say I was looking at Circuit City and was comparing this television to the Samsung 52a750 model and I was surprised how cartoonish their colors appeared to Sony's XBR6. The only dislike I really have about the television's coloring is the reds, it sort of has a pinkish hue compared to the Samsung's reds, but it can be easily adjusted.
Then the real test took place. BLUERAY! I had to try and watch Pirates of the Caribbean. WOW! Using the PlayStation 3 as my DVD player, I started with motion set on high and watched in amazement drooling over the picture I was starting at. I was very surprised at how well the motion handled. I was expecting that bubbly look you get from fast moving object to be quite pronounced. I know there's a technical name, but I'm not familiar with it. Anyways though it was still there, but comparing it to other TV models with 120hz I've seen I was very pleased. I had to swap the motion control to standard and was amazed at seeing no degradation of picture quality (no bubbly!).
BRAVIA XBR 52 120Hz 1080p LC DHDTV with Built-In ATSC/NTSC/QAM Tuner
The last comment I have to say is the quality of the black level of the TV. Deepest richest blacks that I've seen on a non-led LCD EVER!!!! Even with Samsung's clear coat on their screens greatly deepening its blacks, Sony's LCD still seemed to have a real good edge over Samsungs 52a750.
My overall satisfaction of this television is very high. I would recommend this television to anyone looking for an outstanding television. That's all I have to say. I hope someone out there finds this review helpful."
