A venture into the Sony Bravia 46" HDTV jungle

You've spent 2-3 months learning everything you possibly can about HDTVs, screen resolutions, the difference between 720p & 1080p and finally you feel ready to buy a Sony Bravia 46" HDTV, since that the model that most people recommend as the best HDTV set.

New problem: There is not only 1 Sony Bravia 46 Inch hdtv model, there's a whole slew of them including 3 different XBR models and more!

Sony KDL-46S2010 46" Bravia S-Series LCD HDTV 

The cheapest of the Sony 26" Bravia pack, the KDL-46S2010 is actually a magnificent TV that has gotten rave reviews all around.

It looks great, thought the border is a bit on the thick side, and while true technology freaks won't be satisfied with only 1080i, this is a very solid 46" Bravia HDTV that goes for under 2000 bucks.

Here's what one guy had to say after purchasing this Sony Bravia 46 inch hdtv:

"Great TV, excellent in all ways. Rumors that it doesn't handle 1080i are not true. You just need the correct HDMI cable. Both Comcast & Wowway here install with the 3 RCA component type jacks, those do not support 1080i.

When I added the HDMI cable the HD programs JUMPED out, fantastic!"

Sony Bravia KDL-46S3000 46" 720p LCD HDTV 

This gem is an updated version of the aforementioned KDL-46S2010 and this time around Sony hasn't screwed around; you get full 1080p with this piece of hot technology!

They've also made the border smaller which makes the HDTV look way better and along with the better picture and higher resolution, this is definitely a better buy if you have a few extra hundreds to throw at your Sony Bravia 46" hdtv.

Sony KDL-46XBR3 46" Bravia 1080p HDTV LCD TV 

Make no mistake about it; this is the abosolute state-of-the-art Sony Bravia 46 Inch HDTV!

With 3 HDMI 1080p inputs, full HD resolution of 1920x1080, stylish all-black design with a defined border and a ton of other features, watching great movies has never been better than this!

On amazon you'll find a lenghtly review written by a really dedicated consumer who's raving about how awesome the Sony Bravia 46" XBR3 is - here's his take on the great warranty:

"As for this cloudy issue people are talking about I have had NO problem with this issue. My TV looks amazing! The TV comes with a 18 month warranty (12 month on XBR2) and if your not happy with it why not exchange it? I recommend getting an extended warranty for this large of a purchase should you ever have any issues you know you will be taken care of."
