Which is better - the book or the tv show?

Books are always better!

RavenReviews says:

I think they are both great but you have to look at them as seperate things b/c although they are the same they are different. If you are a book reader and have not watched the series you can't expect it to be the same as the book.

kimmie1967 says:

I like the books a lot better than the show although I do enjoy the series also.

Vamp61616 says:

I haven't seen the show, being too young, but I read the novels, and I always think novels are better than their screen equivalent.

Laniann says:

I haven't read the books or seen the tv show. I've heard all the talk about both and the books are on my list to read. I have always found the book to be better than the movie version. Some how the movie is never as good as the book.

missbat says:

Although I enjoy the TV version, I started with the books way before there was even talk of a TV series. The books explore the characters more and aren't as explicitly graphic. The plot has taken a lot longer to develop and it's hard to do that with television and keep your audience.

I like the tv show way better!

andreaberrios says:

I love the books but I also love True Blood! Awesome vampire TV Show!

SudokuNut says:

I love the books but have to say I love seeing some GOOD vampire related TV for a change. Been a long time IMHO!

rms says:

Since I havn't read all the books yet, I gotta say that I really love the Trueblood tv show. I may have to come back and change my vote later though!

What Do You think of Sookie's Powers of Telepathy?

Would you like to be able to hear what (almost) everyone is thinking?

Loading

Yes because . . .

Rhianon says:

Yes, I would... But It'd probably drive me a bit insane.(Emphasis on the "bit")
Sookie rules! And if that's what it takes to have guys to get interested in me, than that's what I'll do.*smiles mischeiviously*

missbat says:

If it came with an "OFF" button, sure. Who wouldn't want to know what someone really thinks?

patricia says:

yes

Chelle26 says:

I'd like to be able to control it. If I didn't have control, it would be problem. However, I'd love to know what people are thinking sometimes. This would be my superpower if I had one. And to think, all I need is a little fairy heritage.

hmsweaver says:

I agree that it would probably be more of a curse most of the time, but it has come in handy for Sookie on more than one occasion! I don't know, but maybe it would be worth it, if it could be controlled when not needed. :-)

No way because . . .

RavenReviews says:

no I think there is a reason we don't know everything!

nadjaiskeniskie says:

I already hate listening to all the voices in my head, let alone the banality of anyone else.

Laniann says:

First reaction is no. But if you could turn this power on when you wanted to use it - it could come in handy.

KimGiancaterino says:

Probably not. Wasn't there a Twilight Zone episode about this?

Treasures-By-Brenda says:

No way...that's pretty scary!

karanta says:

No - I would not like to hear that all

Mickie_G says:

Absolutely NOT. I am way too sensitive.

SudokuNut says:

Err...no! I dread to think what is in the minds of some of the people who cross my path on a daily basis!

spirituality says:

I would imagine that it's way too much chatter. My own head has enough chatter for me to listen to.

What do you think of Trueblood's Sookie?

Is Anna Paquin doing a good job playing Sookie Stackhouse?

Loading

Yes. Anna Paquin is excellent as Sookie Stackhouse!

RavenReviews says:

I think she a great sookie but i did watch the show before i started the books so i didn't already have in mind what she should be like.

patricia garces says:

i love her no one could ever play her the way that anna does. its a perfect match...

says:

Amazing job! She can be so funny; love the accent.

MzAnonymous1 says:

I will be glad when they bring the show back to Hbo

shanna williams says:

I think the sookie in true blood is very right. She seductive , funny, and a real eye pleaser. I love everything about her. She's just right.

No Way! Anna Paquin is not a good representaiton of the Sookie I know and love from the Southern Vampire Mystery Novels!

Michelle says:

Hell no. I have read all the books and Anna Paquin whines and has a horrible accent. It's too pronounced. Also, Sookie is more endowed and 'healthy' sized, and has blue eyes. Anna is flat-chested, thin, and has brown eyes. She also over-acts! I think Scarlet Johansson would have been a better match!

Connor says:

No Anna Paquin really annoys me as Sookie. She's whiny and always finds some way to blame Bill for everything. I think she's not as strong as as book Sookie; she doesn't seem as good.

ChloeComfort says:

From the one episode I saw - not really.

I love True Blood, but the novels are way much better. What I don't like about the show is that they are trying to make it look like Bill is Sookie's Love, which we all know it's Eric! But anyways the show is still good! Great lens.

I only discovered the books in April of this year when my three year old picked one up at wal-mart and it looked interesting. I was immediately hooked and finished the series in two weeks. I found out about Trublood after I started reading the books and since I don't get HBO I bought the series on DVD. My older girls love it too.
  • Connor Dec 2, 2009 @ 10:37 pm | delete
I adore the TV show and as bad as I feel to say it; I find it more entertaining. I think it may simply be because I saw the show first and then discovered the books. I am sure if I had heard of the books first I would prefer them.

I haven't read these books, but a friend of mine is bringing the set when she visits next month. Excellent lens... I'm featuring it on my Squid Angel Diary this week.
