Sounds like a great idea for a burger, if you did want a little meat maybe throw in some ground turkey in the mix and some fresh spinach leaves on top, a dash of shredded pepper jack cheese and kapow! Instant heart burn, I mean mouth watering delight. :)

I've never had a black bean burger but will go with your recommendation and recipe. You are so right, I just don't always care to have meat and this is probably a healthier protein choice.

Simple and (hopefully) tasty! Will try!

There's no need to mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Why do recipes always try to make you do extra, unnecessary steps? I think it's a plot by the dish detergent people because using the extra bowl is just something to wash.
  • BigGirlBlue Jan 11, 2010 @ 7:09 pm | delete
I completely disagree "me". Mixing them in a separate bowl helps blend the ingredients so you don't end up with part of the burger being more garlicky or salty or whatnot than another. Feel free to use a dirty bowl.

Yay, more vegetarian/vegan recipes! Oh, for anyone who is allergic to eggs (like me), I think you can actually replace the eggs with tofu in the recipe above. I do that for other recipes, and use egg replacement for baking.
I'm gonna look through all the recipes later. For now, I'm favoriting this and giving it 5*.

I think these burgers sound yummy and I'm going to make them. I also think the smokey corn and black bean pizza will be a winner...great lens.
