Find out more about your lens statistics...

Squidoo provides lensmasters with a great deal of information about people who visit your lenses.  This information includes where visitors are coming from, where they go, and what they purchase.

This information can be used to increase the traffic to your lenses, increase your lensrank and even your affiliate sales.

Update: Scroll to the bottom of the lens to see tips for improving your lensrank and traffic.

If you like my lens please give it four or five stars above. If you want to find out about updates just add it to your Favorites.

Dashboard View

The Home Base for all of your statistics

The dashboard gives you the lensrank, the average star rating, the number of visitors, the amount of money earned, and the last time you made any changes for each of your lenses.

Lensmaster Dashboard

Lenses are normally sorted by lensrank. You can also sort them alphabetically by clicking on Lens Title. You can sort them by number of visitors by clicking on Visits, and so on. Some of these lists are more useful than others:

Lens Title
Very useful if your have a lot of lenses and are looking for one by title.

Rank
This is the default listing. Is very useful for looking at your highest ranked lenses, and making them even better, or your lowest ranked lenses to improve them.

Improve your lowest ranked lenses to see the biggest jump in lensrank.

Visits
Lists lenses by the number of visitors. The easiest lenses to promote are the ones that already get a lot of traffic. This list helps you know which lenses are getting the most visitors.

$$
Lists lenses by the amount of affiliate income has been earned that as NOT been moved to your reserve hopper.

Edited
This shows which lenses have been ranked most recently. Is a great way to rediscover lenses you may have neglected for a while. It can also help you maintain a update schedule.
Lensmaster Dashboard

Clicking the green Stats button for any lens bring up the summary shown in the next module. Clicking on my samples will go to your dashboard. (If you're logged into Squidoo.)

Summary

An overall view of each lens' performance

What to Read Lens
Lensrank
Under the summary tab you can see details about your lens' lensrank, including the overall rank, the category rank, the highest rank achieved and the days on the top 100.

The most important number, for most lensmasters, is the category rank. Being in the top 100 lenses is fun but difficult. Being in the top 100 for your category is surprisingly easy.

Surfer Stats
These statistics are used in calculating your lensrank. Clickouts measure how many people click on one of the links on your lens. This happens when your links look interesting and informative. You want people to follow your links. More clickouts means a higher lensrank. My motto is:

Improve your lensrank by encouraging people to leave

People are able to spread the word about your lenses by emailing your lens. Visitors can also mark your lens as a favorite to visit later. Both of these improve your lensrank.

Visits to your lens (life to date)
This graph shows the history of your traffic. If you hover over the points you can see the actual number for that day. For seasonal lenses this can help you know the best time to promote them.

Here is a sample for one of my lenses. Can you guess which one?
What to read Lens

Traffic

Lewis' Tagging LensThe Traffic page helps you find out where your visitors came from and where they are going. You can view your traffic for Today, Yesterday, the Past 7 Days or the past 30 Days.

Visits
Shows the number of people to land on your lens during the last 7 days and for the life of the lens.

Traffic Sources
If you want to build traffic this is the most important information. It tells you where visitors are coming from. You can test different places to "market" your lens. This tells you if your efforts have paid off.

Referral traffic comes from blogs, websites, forums and other lenses. Direct traffic comes from browser bookmarks or typing in your URL. Search traffic comes from people searching for a specific topic.

The Keywords listed are words or phrases that people put into search engines that led them to your lens. Is there a plus sign (+) next to a phrase that brought in a lot of visitors? Click it and republish your lens to add that phrase as a tag. It will help even more people find you using that phrase.

Find out more about tags by clicking either picture in this module.

Lewis' Tagging LensReferrers
These are sites, blogs, forums and more that link directly to your lens. Click on the link to see specific subdomains. Be nice and link back to their lenses or blogs.

Clickouts
This is where people are going after visiting your blog. Do you have links that are never used? Maybe you should taake them off your lens.

What else do you want to know?

Let me know what else I should add to my lens.

I have worked at offering tips, advice, and mentoring through my daily visits to lensmasters' lenses. Although I am not an official mentor, I've always wanted to give back any way that I can.

I am hoping you can help me out with something. My stats that show visits have been stuck for over 24 hours yet when I go to traffic under stats it shows that my clickouts are much larger than the visits. I know I have had a lot of traffic but why are my stats stuck and how do I get them to reflect the actual traffic. Thanks for your help.

Update Regularly

One of the best ways to improve your lensrank is to make regular updates.

Please post your ideas for keeping your lens content fresh.

Wow -- can you imagine how long it takes me with over 445 lenses to keep them updated regularly? Well recently, when the new themes were launched, I did update ALL of my lenses within 7 days ... and then I rested!

If you already have all the necessary information on a lens, you can always change some pictures, add a poll, change Amazon products, etc. just for the sake of updating.

I make a schedule to make regular updates. When I update I add stats keyword phrases from my search engine traffic, add or change images.
