There was never enough of anything for me. Not enough booze, drugs, men, money, sugar and on and on and on and on.

At some point during my drinking, I realized that one drink was never enough and a bath tub full wasn't enough. Never, never enough!

One of the ego's mottos is seek but never find.

Even in sobriety the search was on for something to "fix" me. Was it you? Was it another job? What would fill me up? For some time it appeared that there was nothing that would fill the "hole in my soul".

I spent lots of time curled up in the fetal position on the couch. I began to wonder why I got sober if I was going to miserable.

I learned about the ego first in the "Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous" then "A Course in Miracles" and many other books.

If there is Love, there can be no Fear. If there is Fear, there can be no Love. At any given moment, there is all Fear or all Love.

"No part of Fear is real".

"Love cannot co-exist with Fear".

"Fear cannot co-exist with Love".

If we see Fear in any form, we are mistaken and have not understood Love's call. "Every appearance of Fear is a sign that our minds have chosen to see through a distorted lens.
