What the heck is Squidcasting? No it's not fishing for Squid! It's the awesome new interactive tool from the Squidoo HQ team. In a nutshell Squidcasting allows you to interact and react with your fans and fellow Squids. Check out my 50 Ways to Use Squidcasting!

50 Ways To Use Squidcasting! 

Go on, try a few...you'll love it!

  1. Ask people to add to your Plexo.
  2. Tell them why they need a barbed wire toilet seat.
  3. Give them new HTML tips.
  4. Send them your resume.
  5. Spout off about who you think is the worst actor Ever.
  6. Share your passion for travel.

Yep, I'm a fan of the Squidcast. Lately I've been using it to link to modules within my lenses, in order to create more backlinks. I've also used it to update my group members on our ranking, what's going on, who's new, etc.

Hmmm! This requires thought - I've worked hard on my lens and in spite of all my efforts, very few people have visited it. I've already done a squidcast without effect. What am I doing WRONG? I feel as though I am staring into my own navel!

So far, I've only sent Squidcasts when I've created new lenses, never when updating or for any other reason. Perhaps I might try it here and there for som of the reasons you've suggested, but I want to be careful not to overdo.

And while, I'm here (besides leaving stars behind, of course :) ), I wanted to say thank you for your comment on my "Hiking My Way To A Novel" lens. I'll follow the link you left and look into the Giant Squid program. I appreciate the vote of confidence.
