The Squidoo Choice Awards!

There are categories below, and you simply have to take a few seconds to read them and cast your vote. At first, I thought about voting plexo's, but to be honest, I think that having a voting system where no one (except me) can see the results is more exciting. I don't plan on looking at the results until the very end either.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for suspense!

You can vote for anyone you want. I have set up a separate email address just for this contest, and there is a form below that you can just cut and paste into your email, add your nominees and press 'send'. It's as simple as that.

The voting will run until December 18/09, with a new winner being announced every week. Every week one new member will be added to the winners celebration lens.

The award ceremony itself will be written like a story. There will be pictures and laughter galore. I think it will be a lot of fun. Keep reading to see what's in it for you.

Like any good award ceremony, there has to be prizes for the winners. The winner and runner-up for each category will receive a jpeg image of their individual trophy, which they can then display prominently on their lenses. They will be featured on the award ceremony lens, on my blog and have bragging rights Squidoo wide for an entire year!

How cool is that?

I will personally craft each trophy and send it to the winners of the Squidoo Choice Awards. Yes, that's a lot of work on my part, but I really think it will be worth it to recognize the best of the best on Squidoo. Besides that, it will be great fun.

I hate rules, but they're necessary in some cases. However, since I dislike them so much, there are very few of them. Here they are:

-These awards are meant to be fun. Please don't make it unpleasant for anyone.

-Please don't send me spam email. I'm posting the link to my email address in good faith, and would hate to receive spam as a result.

-You're only allowed one vote per category so make it count!

-Yes, you can vote for yourself if you truly think you're the man or woman for the job.

-You must be a Squidoo member to cast a vote.

-Please make sure that you leave your own Squidoo profile link in the voting box so that I can verify that you're actually a member of Squidoo.

-Again, the Squidoo Choice Awards are meant to be fun, and to highlight the achievements of the lensmasters that make Squidoo such a great place. While it is a contest, please don't be a sore loser. Instead, help support your fellow lensmasters. There are no losers on Squidoo, just winners.

-Please send me one vote at a time. There is a new category each and every week. Otherwise, it will be too much work for me.

-I give you my word that I will not use or share your email addresses for anything. As soon as your votes are tabulated, I will delete the emails right away.

AJ made an excellent suggestion and I`m going to go with it. The dates beside the categories are the span of time that you`re allowed to vote on each category. Voting will run between those times, and every week a new Squidoo Choice Award will be awarded.

Keep in mind that participation is VERY important. If there is consistent voting and interest, I will make this a yearly event, with new winners each and every year.

Also, since there will be new winners every week, there will be a lens dedicated to the winners. In other words, an ongoing awards ceremony will be held, with a new segment for each new winner. I`m thinking of having the winners do up an acceptance speech, too. But that`s just a thought. We`ll see how this pans out.
