6. The sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing. Proverbs 20:4

Squidoo translation: The lazy person cannot get started and does not want to work in the beginning; therefore he has no harvest, no results, no fruit, no money.

7. I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man. Proverbs 25:30-34

Squidoo translation: Don't let laziness be the cause of your poverty. Take time to learn and know what to do and DO IT!

8. The sluggard buries his hand in the dish;he will not even bring it back to his mouth! Proverbs 19:24

Squidoo translation: Finish what you start!

9. The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside!" or, "I will be murdered in the streets!" Proverbs 22:13

Squidoo translation: Don't wait for perfect conditions to start. Don't make excuses i.e. I can't write, I'm too tired, etc.

10. He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly. Proverbs 6:23

Squidoo translation: Stay focused, disciplined and don't get sidetracked.

Ok. Gotta throw one in here from Ecclesiastes. Same writer just different book!

Because of laziness the building decays, and through idleness of hands the house leaks. Ecclesiastes 10:18

Squidoo translation: Don't let outside influences overwhelm you to the point that it kills your dream and stops you from doing it. Stay on top of what you are doing. Half finished lenses get you nowhere!
