I will tell why I love it so much, some tips and how to get started with your very own page. Once you start you will be addicted, making money and having fun. So don't be afraid - it is so easy - anyone can roo it.

Why I love Squidoo and Scooby Too

I found Squidoo one day searching something on the internet and decided it would be a great way to promote my party business website The Party Animal. So I did that and started generating nice traffic. In the time I was doing that I met another Squidoo-er who was doing quite well with Squidoo, money wise. So one thing led to another and I started adding more pages around my party planning.
Then over time I just started making pages on my other interests like cool toys, animals, art and now I even added some in politics - who knew. My lenses are always in fun and you will find my style is BLINGY and creative. Some hate that I use art that sparkles or animated stuff, but that is me and that is who I am.
I absolutely love Squidoo and find I am now addicted and I know if you start to Squidoo you will be too. I may see someting cool or talk about something to someone now and say "Hey I am gonna Squidoo that" and why not. I have found I enjoy writing and doing research on my subject and then that opens doors for even more pages. OH and the best thing is that I get paid to do it all. Ok OK I am not breaking the bank, but the extra money each month gets bigger as time goes by and I am having fun. Did I mention I am a Giant Squid, a Squidoo RocketMom and I am in the Giant Squidoo 100 Club?
Oh and Scooby - I love him cause he is just one cool dog - who does not ruv Scooby?

Ok Sounds Great - Rut do I do now? What do I write about?

Well first you have to think what you can write about. What interests you? It can be anything at all. You can right about your grandmother, you can write about matching socks, you can write about Scooby Snacks, your business, your EBay, what makes you fart - you can start a duel over toilet paper - over or under. That is what is so great. So you think how can I make money off of that. Well you write something interesting and add links to products and when someone clicks and buys you get a percentage or you can even donate it to charity. I will add links that get more into that, but for now - think about all the things you can write about and pick one to start.

Well that all depends. NOTE: It will not happen overnight, but with some work it will happen. It also depends on how good you are at writing, what you write about, promoting your lens, how many visitors come and click your links. So you want to be original and make a lens that there are not hundreds of. Still not so hard right? Just do a search within Squidoo on your subject or Google it and see what happens. I also say make your page catchy - especially in the beginning to keep readers wanting to continue reading.

How do You and Squidoo make money? How does it work?

It's simple. You make a lens. You recommend great stuff. Sometimes you might recommend a product from Amazon or eBay or CafePress and share a percentage of the sale.

Since Squidoo is free to use, they have to run a few ads on your lens in order to keep paying the server bills. But, since you're the brains behind the lens, you should get a cut! And better than a cut: you get HALF. That's right. Any time someone stops by your lens and buys a product you recommended or clicks on a Google ad, you get 50% of the royalties. We keep 45% for the company and send 5% to charity.

Promoting your Lenses will help bring you readers - Rets Go....

It is important to know that promoting your lens is very important. I mean if you want to make one and you are good with just letting people find you - that is fine, but you want people to come read it right? So this is a step you want to take to draw people in and see your number of visitors increase. Everyone is always working on how to do this, the best ways and places to promote. I am still working on this too and learning tips from other Squidoo-ers to help (they are all so smart).
This part always seems to overwhelm me. Below I have links to some great lenses that will help you with that part. For me I usually always add my lenses link to, Stumble (I love Stumble), Tagfoot, Digg, Delicious, Lensroll, My Facebook, MySpace Page, posting in the forums and some others. This shows that a particular page is a certified gold star lens, which means it's the best of its kind on Squidoo (or shows some serious potential for getting there.) When your lens gets a gold star, it also automatically gets a little LensRank boost. Not bad. For now, only Giant Squids can get gold stars on their lenses. Yahoo - I have one.
