My Stamp Collection
Ranked #6,822 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #86,450 overall
A 25 year old collection.
Most of my stamps are from an annual stamp exibition, from around 1982.
A collection of those stamps were brought to my primary school, and we got to keep any one of them!
I got the best ones, so I was told. "Hold on to these." said a presenter. And I did.
This lens will showcase many of my favorite stamps, I love all of them.
Hope you enjoy them!
The picture you see is a set of monkeys,
The monkey set has taken very little damage since I first got them.

Mohandas Gandhi
It has become more popular now that there are no new stamps in creation.I have many Indian stamps including an instrument one.
The Concorde
The Concorde is retired so might the release of stamps with the Jet on it, unless commemorative editions are released or if the Super Sonic Jet takes off again. -- Shop -- Gandhi stamps for your collection
Tasmanian Tiger
The stamp claims the animal is endangered, not extinct. Nice rare quality.I have two of these, one with pen mark and wear and tear. I found these, over 25 years ago.
The Tasmanian Tiger is now extinct.
1976 Western Australia Inverted Green Swan
A 1976 Nicaraguan issue commemorative, rare and famous stamp illustration, this stamp is unusual because of the text on the reverse side(not shown), which is in perfect glossy form. The Reverse Side
Sorry about the no translation, in brief the stamp would describe the featured Inverted Green Swan from Australia. Most likely, as often found, words from other countries can be 'the closest thing' or slightly wrong.
I did not translate it, but thought I offer this fact.

1966 Virgin with Child

Graham Hill, 1968
It's not everyday you see these stamps, Graham Hill was world champion in 1968, you can see his car and great winning smile!I know the fans are going to love this one, enjoy!
This is an air mail postage, the stamp, I would guess, would not be placed on a package but passed over by hand.
Then the air mail package would be sent without any stamps on it.
It's the only explaination I can think of since this stamp does not have a sticky gum back.
King George VI
Part I
This is an Australian stamp from around the mid 1900's, as a collector you study stamps, notice little features- the edges of some stamps are clear cut, neat, some are made uneven naturally, like frayed paper, my favorites.
Some Vietnam stamps have that quality that I know of, this particular stamp looks like a template of the King was placed down, you can clearly see that the profile picture is, almost, pasted on.
This is a pre-decimal stamp.
King George IV
Part II
I have many of these stamps, the stamp on the right is an older version. Queen Elizabeth I and II Stamps
Part 1
Here are stamps of Queen Elizabeth I and II.
One is from Hong Kong others are Australian and Canadian.
The Canadian Parliament Building is featured on one of the stamps.
Queen Elizabeth II Stamps
Part II
As a collector I would opt for younger pictures of the Queen for more rariety and value.
The Canadian Parliament Building is featured in one of the stamps.
President Lincoln
This is one of my favorites, I don't have any more of the President, it's a 4 cent profile and in fair condition - the edges are a little shabbly. The President seems to be in a log cabin

South Korea
It's not the first time this stamp has been pulled up, it's partner, in a set, is a photoshot of an astronaught standing on the moon near his lander. It's a wonderful stamp, large, like this. Both are have gold edgings and the same large rectangle size, but the stamps are not as genuine as you think, these stamps are "Themes" and not official releases of events.
This stamp, (pictured stamp) has many familar marks, it basicly apart of a set of stamps that were "themes"
This sport theme stamp from South Korea, features Ice hockey.
Like I said the stamp has many familar marks, but is reputable in being inaccurate.
The set is worth alot to collectors. These two stamps were found in a pile, from an Expo tour in the earily 80's.
The Expo members were loving enough to share stamps from the Expo in their community tour.
Egypt
I have this and an Ankh and several other stamps from that area. This is one of my favorites, it's in mint condition.

This stamp is in great condition.
Christmas 1981 USA
A well preserved stamps from the USA, a 1981 Christmas stamp of Holy Mother mary and Baby Jesus. These stamps were cancelled in the same fashion, I have not seen one that has not been.
- this one was fortuante to have been gently cancelled enough to see the picture.
Great Britain Christmas editions
These are nice to look at, colorful and bright, the condition of the stamps are very good considering I have had them for over 25 years. I have placed them all on to one picture to help save space, the quality is still good.If you want to zoom in:

Jugoslavia
The last country to bear the name Yugoslavia was the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, established on March 27, 1992.In 2003 the name "Yugoslavia". was officially abolished. See here for more.
I have many stamps from this country, here are a few.
I can not find any of these stamps in an archive, even in the German or Serbian occupation era.
I do not know why, but I assure you, these are not fakes, they were collected over 25 years ago.
Japanese
I have a few more of these wonderful stamps, they are all the same size too. Vietnam
I have so many more of these, many feature Russian simularities, others are full on propergander.I love the propergander stamps from this era, they are full of hope and courage, and do not give the name propergander a bad image, oops, did I just pass over to the dark side?! Sorry, humor!
These also have been in my collection for over 25 years.
Adolf Hitler
I thought this was rare to have, but it's as common as cut grass on one website. Stamped in Berlin, 1937
Stamped in Berlin in 1937, you can clearly see the time, month or day, and year.I have many of these in my collection - this one is the clearest cancelled stamp.
The Red Baron
Heroes of the Air
Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen, nick named "The Red Baron", a famous German fighter pilot. This is great stamp. Red was the color of his plane.
here for more.
The Red Baron's plane is yellow here, it seems he flew another colored plane.
it's a prize stamp in my collection.
Water Marks
These have water marks, looking them up on the internet I found that one of them might be from the italian era, where a water mark was used, then discontinued. I did not, however, find any reference to the water mark on the stamp.if you cannot see them clearly, the giant triangle has 'star' water marks,
the other is has a pretty 'circular pattern', like pretzels.
The collection continues
Mint covers and more stamps from my books.
Extra bonus display at the bottom of the page.
Indian Postal insurance cover letter
This is the 100th aniversary of Insurance for postal in India, the celebrations have past 150 years. Munich 1974 World Cup Soccer
The World Cup was in Munich, 1974. This is a great stamp, as a collector and fan of the soccer, this stamp is one of my best. 1974 Chinese Stamp.
This is a rare feature in my collection, chinese stamps.I have not seen too many from the country and as a collector I would love more stamps from this country. Again, it's been in my collection for over 25 years, looks the same when I first got it.
CCCP
CCCP. I have so many of these, they are a truely a wonderful part of my collection, I love all of them - from Stalin(not shown) to other CCCP stamps. The stamps are from 1966, most are the same size, smaller than normal stamps. Pascua 1972
This is a pass over stamp, the picture is of Jesus. Space Air mail stamps
Another Air mail paper stamp. This is of Apollo 15, Lunar Rover RoutesI really do not know the name of these stamps, sheets are not the word,
neither is paper. I call them 'paper' but 'posters' is a better description.
I have a few of these kind of Air mail 'stamps', very nice to look at, this one is folded,
you can see the line, I do not have too many stamps in my collection with errors, this is one.
Cuba Satelite
This is a great stamp, I have a few space stamps in my collection this one is in great condition. World famous paintings
Luca Giordano was italian and born on the 18th of October 1634.

Australian Bicentennial Collection
I was so excited to have first bought this in the mid 80's, as soon as it was released I went to the post office and payed about $10 for it. The cover is in mint condition, the corner is a little worn on the cover, but the stamps sheet is still perfect. One of my all time favorites.
America's Cup, 1983
I remember the day Australia past the finish line to claim the cup.Australia II won the event.
These are in mint condition, one is of America's cup held up in victory, the other is of Australia II
the another stamp is of the boxing Kangaroo.

Click go the Shears
An Australian favorite sing-a-long song. In the older days Sheers were used to sheer(cut) the sheep's wool, if the sheers were to cut a sheep too deep, the tar boy would place a lump of the tar on the wound. Electric sheers now replace the old cutters, but you can still see traditional exibition at Sovereign Hill in Victoria, Australia. Two reason why you we don't use sheers any more, one the electric cutters are quicker, and two, your not as likely to cut the animal. The second rule, more like a guild line, introduced from animal cruelty protests. But you can still see the old fashion ways, deemed better by some shearers.
Wildlife
This is a set of wildlife in Australia, the cover was released in the later part of the 80's.This is still in it's original cover and is in great shape.

1973 ' This is my beloved son' Australian christmas stamp. It's in good condition.
South Africa, pre-deciaml stamps - I have a few of these, they are small stamps, the other South African stamp featured with the bird is in decimal currence, half a cent.
Arrasy wawblskie, Polish - Polska - stamp.

Other stamps in this picture are Canadian, India, CCCP and Magyar Post from Hungry.
Past Experience
Leaving envelopes in water is a good way to remove stamps, but the effects, can be permanent.I did remove many of my stamps just by soaking them, not all of these, *gasp* one or three might have been.
You can tell if you have a keen eye. - the result can be a chalky, stiffness, but that goes away over the years
- but quality is decreased a little.
I suggest, like many other would, do not remove stamps from the envelopes.
If you must, try another method:
A soft cold steam sounds better, there not much you can do about the stamps warping(bending).
One suggestion, press down a soaked wet cotton sheet on the top of the stamp and steam the reverse side,
delicate touches with tweezes will help remove the unstuck paper.
A quick 1 minute dip and careful peeling them is better than soaking them over night,
but it's so risky and you can remove so much of the stamp.
Other than that, just leave them, collectors love the envelopes anyway.
Many of the stamp from envelopes still have the paper on the reverse, but are neatly cut.
It's how I got them.
Mint Conditions
The stamps has been in my collection for over 25 years old when I first started my collections, I was about 7 years old when I started and I am now 33.

Random Stamps
Selecting which stamps to show you was hard,I featured afew one-of-a-kinds. I still have a huge amount of more great looking stamps.
I have more famous world paintings and colouful Magyar Post stamps and a huge amount of others.
The second last stamp I collected was a movie stamp, it was delivered to me, still in mint condition.
The stamp has a print on it that looks like it is cancelled.
The movie reel print looks like a cancelled out feature, some post offices allow them to pass by unnoticed,
I bet that stamp will last for some time being sent back and forth.
It's a Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Movie poster, 55c Australian stamp.(not shown)

Stamp Rants
Priceless are what we can call the ones we keep.
Mint means unused or new, covers are are also called mint - not more so, just behind plastic windows.
If you were to buy a coin from a mint, that coin is in mint condition beacuse it is not used, it's new - the one behind plastic or stored in vaults are just in places to help preserve the item. I thought ham came from a cow, I was confused by the word Buckingham when I was little.
