The New Motion Picture
The 11th movie of the Star Trek franchise created by Gene Roddenberry was released on May 8, 2009.
The movie was produced by J.J. Abrams (of Lost fame).
The movie will be of the early adventures of James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock. Not the Kirk, Spock and crew that we currently know, but of a slightly different alternative time line. It's not a remake of the original series, but a reboot.
Although different that what we may be use to from a Star Trek movie, it still is a very entertaining movie. In my opinion the 2nd best of the movies. Only the Wrath of Kahn was better.

- I, too, am ready for a new series, though I would really like to see Vulcans as regular characters. They seemed to have disappeared for the most part after the original series. Looking forward to this movie.

- I heard there was one coming out, but I wasn't much of a fan of the original series, but I am a Star Trek fan in general, so I hope it does well. I'm ready for a new spin-off...
