- I am a resident of MD and I have a Food Handling and Service License for the anywhere in the United States. Is there anything more than a heart and desire to cook that I need to start catering LEGALLY or is the Food Handling and Service License enough.

- Thank you Lucy for the valuable info you have provided. I recently lost my job after 20 years with the company. I am passionate about cooking, and am considering catering from home. I started a week ago with family, and now plan on getting the proper approval etc. and will keep your notes handy. thank you, and please wish me luck. God bless

- i have been making sushi for the past sevral years now i am thing of opening a catering company see how it works but will i be able to get the permit and healt thing if i am going do my business from my home is it posible will they let me do it?

- If I prepare the food on the premises of a private home hosting the function do I still need a permit? Do I HAVE to have a permanent kitchen as a business address?

- How do I obtain a business license/permit in the State of Florida for a catering business. I am
already incorporated -- had license and insurance in Virginia but find it difficult to obtain in Florida. Can you point me in the right direction. I am crazy passionate about cooking and creating cuisines from all over the world.

Now you need to start building your network of friends and recommendors. Any friend which has an event should come to you for catering so that people start hearing about you. Cast your net wide and you will catch more fish.
