Work at Home Moms need help!
As a work at home mom of three children five and under, I often have found it difficult to really stick to my schedule and/or keep going due to the lack of real time adult interaction. As work at home moms, or dads, we need to continue to harvest our inner motivation to persevere and to keep our eyes on our goals and objectives - to not be derailed by burn-out.
Solopreneurs and Entrepreneurs - Read on!
Do you work at home? Do you have a job in addition to your business that you are trying to get off the ground? Is your business having a mid-life crisis? Are YOU becoming overwhelmed and convinced that working at home or being an entrepreneur isn't for you?
Burnout is NOT an option
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. Many people who are sole proprietors and/or work from home are missing the support and motivation that a 9-5 job can offer. More often than not, entrepreneurs work alone and are doing everything in their business from accounting, to booking clients, to creating websites, to blogging, and it's easy to get burnt out.
Don't give up! Always remember that you are working toward the worthy goal of owning and running your own business.

According to a study by the U.S. Small Business Association, only 66% of new small businesses survive the first two years.
Don't be a negative statistic!
Mental Attitude
Kick up that "I can do it" entrepreneur attitude
It's easy to say that you have a good attitude, but do you really? If you haven't sold any products or booked any clients lately, do you get down in the dumps? Do you criticize yourself, downing your product or service? Don't say "I can't help it, I get depressed%u2026". Head this self-criticism off at the pass. Think positive thoughts. If business is slow, use the time to make those changes you've wanted to make. Catch up on your professional reading. Check out the competition - see what the new trends are in your industry. Use this down time to increase your knowledge about yourself and your business.

If only my desk were this clean!
Set Schedules and Deadlines
Your workday must end sometime!
Unlike at a "regular' job, there is no one looking over your shoulder to get things done. You are your own boss, so act like it! Have a project you want to complete or are contemplating a new product launch? Enlist the help of others - email them, call them and let them know what you're doing and when it should be ready to go so you have some sort of accountability. Reach out to your friends on your social networking sites - I'm sure they would be more than happy to keep you on point.
Take a Break!
You deserve it!
Remember, you are your own boss. Don't be a tyrant! Schedule breaks for yourself - gives you time to recharge and refocus on your tasks for the day. It is even more helpful if you schedule your break at the same time every day. This gives you even more of a schedule. Drink some tea, turn on some groovy music or read a non-industry related magazine. When I take my breaks, I crochet or play a board game with my children.
“Don't eat lunch at the computer. Take that time get away from your work.”
Exercise is a crucial component of your well being so....
Don't block your flow!
Exercise is key to a healthy, happy entrepreneur. Remember that you can take a break whenever you want! Feeling run down? Get that heart pumping more blood to your brain. Run up and down the stairs. Stand up and do some yoga or tai chi - use the fact that you work at home to keep yourself energized.
You don't have to worry about getting caught jogging in place in your office, because you OWN the office. And what better way to stay motivated than that?

Important!
Why did you become an entrepreneur?
So you could be glued to your work all day and all night? Nah! Enjoy the flexibility being an entrepreneur gives you and set your schedule so that it includes me time, family time, couple time, pet time, etc - whatever will relax and refresh you.
