Progamming The Subconscious

As far back as I remember have always been intrigued by the mind and its workings. As time went by it was the subconscious which grabbed the attention. How is it something we cannot see controls all our direction and purpose in life. Could it be the subconscious mind is actually the realm of the mighty one. Perhaps it is more of a portal or gateway to the enlightenment.

Please join us as we explore the ways to retrain the mind in over coming its limited ways. We will have lots of fun on our journey.

Your Computer And You

You And Your Computer

Dr Thurman`s Stick ManWe will use a little stick guy to explain how your physical, spiritual and mental parts all work together. This model of the human mind and body was originated by the late, Dr. Thurman Fleet of San Antonio, Texas in 1934[circa]. Dr. Fleet was the founder of Concept Therapy.

Picture of your mind

Lets think of ourselves as computers created by God. I work with computers on a daily basis and understand the premise of the operating system. As a matter of fact, to date, there is no computer in existance that can handle more than one process at the same time - no matter how fast they say the computer is. Your computer, and mine on the other hand can handle lots of things all at the same time. You can see, smell, touch, taste and hear something all at the same time and from that you form a picture in your mind. That picture is stored, reviewed and decided upon all at the same exact time that you experience those senses. What a marvelous machine we have!

Here's how I equate Dr. Thurman Fleet's stick guy(us) to our computers.

*The conscious mind is the software - it is able to reason and discern and extrapolate and respond.

*The sub-conscious mind is the hardware - the disk drives, the mother board, the printers, the scanners - and any other add ons to your computer. This hardware can not make decisions - they can only react. It has to obey what the software tells it to do.

*The body is the container that holds and protects and supports the hardware and software. Think of it as the hard protective shell around your computer. It protects all of the important internal workings. It's kind of like the hard coating that surrounds the coconut. It protects all the delicate working stuff inside.

Now here's something important to understand... even though there are many different types/brands/styles of computers - they are all basically pretty much the same. They have software, hardware and the protective shell(body). And the really cool thing is that you can be the programmer of your computer. If you don't like the store bought software, you can re-write it to your specifications. So let`s make it grand.

You see, God works his miracles through us. We make things happen by thinking thoughts, having feelings about those thoughts, acting upon those feelings and then we get results. WE can make the bad things happen or we can look for the positive and make the good things happen(wow). The choice becomes entirely ours. We can also see how we are responsible for our lives and nobody else.

    Hi John,

great lens and an interesting comparison.

I also have been interested in the wonders of the human mind. Our brain is absolutely fascinating. I am currently reading a book about neuro-plasticity which helps me to understand even more how much influence our thoughts and habits have on our life.

Great lens John - I like the comparison with a computer. I also spend most of my day working on/with computers, so it makes a lot of sense to me. The human brain is an amazing thing we too often take for granted. I've only recently become interested in the importance of the sub-concious and its importance in creating our results.

I agree, John. Most people are totally ignorant of it or dismiss it as unimportant, some people view it as an inconvenient truth, others seek to understand the ways the subconscious mind works and doesn't work. Those that think they know seem to all be ignorant of one thing: the subconscious mind of each person is at a level of evolution. There is a tiny number of people on Earth with very highly evolved subconscious minds. Some people mistakenly believe that because they have done years of work on themselves using NLP, Hypnosis, EFT, etc. that they are very spiritual. Not necessarily so. Most often not so. They confuse the mind with spirit. Two different things.
