What is success?
Success can be defined in a variety of ways. Some define it as material possessions. Some measure it in what they can give to others. Some measure it by their self development. No matter how you define it; as long as you are still breathing, you have a chance at it. So, my point is that there are many different ways of looking at it. It is all a matter of perspective.
Persistence
Never give up
When you persist; you never give up, ever. If something doesn't work, you change direction and try something else. The point is that you never give up and if you never give up; then, you can never fail.

Time-management is a skill that all successful people have. Being able to prioritize events and activities is a key component to master in life because it opens the doors to so many other things. Without the good use of time, nothing would be possible. So, use the time that you've got; wisely.

There is power in the human touch. The bond goes beyond the physical and touches the realms of the spiritual.

Never underestimate the power of human kindness because it can change the very world that we live in.
Determination
One more trait
Determination is best expressed when you have made the decision that you absolutely must have something and that you will go to any length within your own principals and value system to attain your goal.
Compassion
Being able to relate to others
Giving of yourself freely to help another is an act of compassion.
