a little bit about me

Hello everyone!! Thought I would build this lens to introduce myself and to get "my feet wet" on this whole lens making thing.

My name is Amy and I am a stay at home mom and homeschool my 5 children.

I am also an Independent Watkins Associate.

My family and I live in Southern California.

When we find some free time in all our "busyness", we like to take a day and go to the desert or the beach. The images I have above and on my bio were taken on one of our trips to the desert.

Thank you for visiting my lens. I will be adding more to this one and hopefully more lenses soon.

Stay at home

Since I am a homeschooling mom, I don't have a lot of free time on my hands, but I do try to find time to relax and do different things. I like to read, watch HDTV shows and play around on the computer. I also LOVE to cook and look for new recipes. I found that the slow cooker and bread machine can be a homeschool moms best friends!! Throw it in in the morning, set it and forget it until dinnertime. Add some salad or veggies and dinner is done.

I am also an information junkie! (is there a support group for that?) I am always looking for information on internet marketing, homeschooling, affiliate marketing and whatever gets my attention at the moment. I think I should make a lens for us information junkies(hmmmm??) I can't be the only one out there!?! Am I?

I will be adding more lenses on my favorite things as time allows, so keep checking back for more!!

Work from home

I am an Independent Watkins Associate. Watkins has been around since 1868. They were the first network marketing business and offered the first 100% money back guarantee. That same guarantee still stands today.

Watkins has over 350 products that you use in your home everyday. Gourmet foods, Natural based personal care, Natural based remedies and supplements, and natural based home care. Watkins also has organic spices.

While I continue to add more to my lens and develop new ones, you can browse my online catalog.

Watkins Business Opportunity

Information Junkie!!!

Things I have found in my quest to "make it on the net"

Hello, my name is Amy and I am an information junkie!! Whether it is finding the newest, greatest homeschool book for my kids, or that one product that is going to help me make my mark on the net. I am always researching and reading. It is actually getting something started that I don't do well with!! But Squidoo has given me the start I need. It's easy and fun.

The one resource I have found that has helped me the most is the products at the Internet Marketing Center. There are still many products there that I am not ready for, but the products I have bought so far are fabulous.

I have "The Insiders Secrets to Marketing your Business on the Internet" I cannot recommend this product enough!!

I have been reading it and rereading it to get all I can out of it. I am not quite ready to take the plunge of my own website yet, but I am close!!

I have also discovered Mike Dillard, who is a leader in the network marketing business. I just love his book "Magnetic Sponsoring" it has given me a lot of tips on how to attract more leads and business to my Watkins Business. Eventually, I would like to own all that he has.

I HIGHLY recommend Mike Dillards products if you are in ANY kind of business, online or off.

Mike also offers these products:

Homeschooling

I have been homeschooling my boys since the oldest started kindergarden. I am going into my 9th year of homeschooling. I am by no means an expert, but I have certainly learned a few things along the way!!

The most important thing everyone needs to remember is that every family and every child is different. Even within my own family, each one of my boys have their strengths and weaknesses in different areas. I use that to decide what I am going to use for the year. Sometimes I stick with the same, sometimes I need to change what is not working. Give any curriculum you try a chance to work. A big mistake I have made is thinking something isn't working and not giving enough time. Give it a chance. I have used things, changed what I was doing and ended going back to it anyway. Remember, there is no perfect book or curriculum, its what works for you and your family.

I will be making a new lens to go into more detail on what I use and what has worked for us. Just keep in mind, not everything I use will work for every family. This is what works for MY family.

Find what works for your family and most of all HAVE FUN!!

that's the math book we used when I was in 7th grade. . .it was very cutting edge at that time--I'm glad to see it stood the test of time :)
