On Purpose

Because so many times we do things automatically, not considering the possible repercussions or results of our actions, I have vowed to live my life on purpose.

The Purpose of Home Education

Some reasons why families homeschool:

1) To provide their children with a top quality education tailored to their specific needs, interests, and talents,

2) To ensure a safe, secure environment in which children can be nurtured, learn to be respectful and respected, gain confidence, and have a rich and varied social life,

3) To meet the needs of the whole child- academic, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual- with a variety of resources, compassionate counsel, a loving environment, nutritious meals and plenty of exercise, character training and spiritual guidance,

4) To give children abundant outlets for their creativity and opportunities to satisfy their curiosity,

5) To have the freedom to grow as a family with a schedule that is flexible and can meet the needs of everyone- work schedules, holidays, field trips, vacations, emergencies,

6) To receive immediate and accurate feedback in order to be able to quickly and effectively address the needs of the child,

7) To set high standards for conduct, character, and academics and give children the tools to meet those challenges,

8) To allow their children to be respected as individuals with their own unique abilities, interests, and needs...

There are many more that are more specific for each family. Home educators are on the front lines, taking courageous steps out of the public school system's One Size Fits All brand of education, and forging a path the guarantee their children receive the best education possible, and to show educrats how it's done.
