TAPS - Ghost Hunters - The Atlantic Paranormal Society
TAPS was founded in 1990 by Jason Hawes, and was originally called Rhode Island Paranormal Society. The name changed to The Atlantic Paranoral Society shortly afterward because they started investigating broader areas. Grant Wilson, co-founder, joined the group soon afterward. The group teamed up with SyFy in 2004 and aired the first episode of their reality show, Ghost Hunters. The show has since gone on to grow in popularity and has spawned another show, Ghost Hunters International.

Meet the TAPS founders.
Jason Hawes, founder of TAPS, and Grant Wilson, co-founder of TAPS, are plumbers by day, employed by Roto-Rooter. They continue to hold down day jobs even as they have the television show to film. They, along with other members of TAPS, perform paranormal investigations when needed. They use many different types of equipment to do their research, including: EMF meters, digital thermometers, digital voice recorders, camcorders, infrared, thermal imaging, and K2 meters just to name a few. They are also known for their method to investigate. TAPS goes to a location to try and disprove a haunting. They have the advantage of being plumbers, which allows them the knowledge and expertise to find alternate explanations for various experiences. They seem to have a healthy dose of skepticism to bring to each investigation.
They are being sought after all over the world to investigate "haunted" locations. There are many TAPS family members all over the country, and even throughout the world, who team with TAPS and use their methods to investigate sites. They have brought the paranormal field much needed exposure through their television show. Advancements in the field are slow and tedious, but TAPS, along with others, are paving the way for the future.

- I personally love ghost hunters. I wish they would do some investigation in San Antonio since it has many historical and haunted locations.
