You Can't Have Just One, although one at a time is preferred by TFT's. They love being the only child, but having more than one can give the family sooo much joy.

We didn't know what this tiny white thing was until we held him in our arms, and we were sucked in. That's what TFT's do to you. Once you hold one they Suck you into loving them. Even people who don't like little dogs change their mind once they interact with a TFT. Sebastian will be 16 years old on 20 April 2010 (lots of home made food).

Big Dog + Little Dog = Play
Two dogs of defferent sizes CAN play, as long as they are taught how.
Teaching a Big dog to play with a little dog CAN be done, but it is time consuming. Patients and constant supervision, just like with children of different ages, is absolutely necessary. Once the big dog understands the do's and don'ts of playing with the little dog they are pretty much set. Making sure to observe them when play starts on their own without any interference and it progresses positively there is no need to worry about the big one hurting the little one. Such is the case with Tinkerbell the Toy Fox Terrier, all 5 pounds of her, and Lady the Wirehair Fox Terrier, who is quite a bit bigger. Lady "knows" that if she wants to play with Tinker, she MUST lay on the floor. Tinker will not go near her to play if she stands up.
