Ever Wanted to Watch TV on your PC?
Yea, me too. Unfortunately, I wasn't sure how to go about doing it. I searched online and found quite a few options -- some free, some not. So, I decided to do a little research and eventually found my choice. Now that research is here in order to help you all make your decision a little simpler.
And so, here are my reviews for TV on PC.
If you're simply looking for the products, however, here they are.
Satellite TV on Your PC Titanium
Paid Options
Money for Higher Quality
In researching the different methods for playing satellite tv on your pc, I found one option I was really found of. The program was called Satellite Soft. Below, I'll talk about each of the different options and tell you exactly what comes with each as well as which ones I would recommend. Here are the perks that they offer.
Legal: 100% Legal - No hacking or cracking! This was always something I was concerned about.
Works everywhere in the world: U.S., U.K., Canada, Japan, India, Russia, etc. I love it, especially since I travel.
No Extra hardware required: There is no need to buy extra hardware equipment or a PC TV card because the TV channels are streamed through your internet connection. You just need an internet connection (the faster your internet speed the better picture you will get). It even works with a 56k connection. (A Broadband connection will deliver superior audio and video quality).
Very easy use: Just install the program and click - then instantly watch International satellite channels. It only takes a few seconds...
No subscription payments or recurring charges.
No ads or spyware.
Works with all versions of windows
(95, 98, NT, ME, 2000, XP)
One time payment, nothing extra to pay after that.
Satellite Soft's TV on your PC Titanium - #1
For more options and more channels.
My review for Satellite Soft's Satellite TV for your PC.Satellite Soft offers Satellite TV for your PC in three different versions. The one I recommend the most is the titanium version. This version is the one with the most channels and the most options, and, in my opinion, better quality. My hesitation about purchasing the others is this: Eventually, you're going to want to upgrade to this version. Now, you could of course go ahead and buy another version and then upgrade at a later time, but you're going to be losing money -- Believe me, I did just that. I purchased the Pro edition from the get go and inevitably I ended up getting the titanium: That's $150 spent, meaning I could have saved $50. Trust me, this is why I did this review for you guys.
For all you business gurus out there, as well as for those of you who are seeking foreign stations, the titanium version boasts international channels that I highly recommend as well.
Satellite Soft's TV on your PC Elite - #2
Great amount of Channels and Options
(My reasoning for this? I'm dirt poor and I don't have the money to buy all three versions. You guys can sympathize.)
Kyle, you asked for me to let you know a little bit about the elite version of tv on your pc, so here it is.. It comes down to this. It is perfect if you have a wide variety of tastes, occasionally want to see foreign stations and are interested in wider options than the bare minimum but don't want to get too complicated. I would highly recommend this program for anyone who is content with their current dish network provider. It's pretty much the same thing (except a lot cheaper). You get tons of channels just like on satellite, some foreign stations, and still get tons of options. I'd highly recommend this one!
Hope that helped,
Tom
To sum up that e-mail:
-- Get this version if you're looking for something a little more in depth than the bare bones package and think you're going to want to be using the same program for years to come.
-- Want a little more options to tweak for your viewing pleasure
-- Aren't afraid to put down $25 dollars more in return for more channels and more options.
Satellite Soft's TV on your PC Pro -- #2
Yes, we have a tie.
Okay, now I know what you're thinking: How is this supposed to help us choose if you have two number twos? Well, here's my answer. Both The Elite Version as well as The Pro Version of satellite on your tv are great programs. The reason that I made them a tie is because I just couldn't put one over the other. On one hand, the Pro version is cheaper and still comes with nearly as many channels as the Elite version (well, nearly as many channels that people actually watch.) However, the Elite version does have better options. Still, both have so many pros and cons that I just couldn't stand to let one win over the other. So, here's what I have to say.
Get The Elite Version if you want more channels, more options, and have more of a use for tv on your pc.
Get the The Pro Version if you're just looking for a good program to watch tv on your pc and aren't fanatical about it. It still has plenty of options and plenty of channels, so don't worry about that. The things your losing out on are a few great channels (and some you really don't need), as well as, I have to say, some great options available only in the upgrades.
Summary
In case you missed it

Free Options
Because we all love to keep our money
Here are a few options below for viewing tv on your pc. Unfortunately (to save you time) there aren't any GREAT free options. At best, they were mediocre. However, a few stood out from the rest of the crappyness (when they worked) so here are the links to those.BeeLineTv.com
A good website with a bunch of stations from all over the globe. Limited variety.
wwitv.com
Good website, a ton of independent stations as well. Not a ton of options and streaming is kind of slow.
Satellite TV to PC
Stay away from this program! The quality is horrible and the adware just drives you nuts! Definitely not a good buy.
