Your Guide to Horseback Riding in Taiwan
Horseback riding may not be what first comes to mind when you think of Taiwan but if you love riding or would like to learn how, there are opportunities for you to do so in Taiwan. A family friend recently treated me to my first lesson at his equestrian club in Taichung and I'm eager for my next. Horseback riding is a nice break from urban living and you often do not have to leave the city to enjoy it. This lens will discuss horseback riding and equestrian training programs and clubs in Taiwan.

Your Guide to the Lens
I. Suggested books for the beginner equestrian.
The careful reader will note my somewhat twisted sense of humor coming out in this section. If the last book listed offends anyone, I'm sorry.
II. A series of modules highlighting various equestrian clubs.
These are organizations that you can take riding courses and practice riding at. Most are open to the general public, but also have membership and coupon programs. These are a work in progress and some club information is not complete.
III. Chinese Words and Phrases for the Equestrian
Right now, this is a place holder. It may take me some time to create this module as Squidoo does not support Chinese character encoding so I will have to make image files for each word/phrase.
IV. Useful Links
At the end of this lens is a list of articles and other resources available on-line.

Chinese Words and Phrases for the Equestrian
This list uses the Pinyin system of romanization. The numbers in the words indicate the tone. For more information on the Pinyin system of romanization and Chinese pronunciation, see: http://www.pinyin.info/At this time it is not practicle to include the Chinese characters as Squidoo does not support Chinese encoding and creating images files for every word and phrase is not practical.

Wow, has it been two years!?! I'm sure there is horseback riding in the area, but I am not sure. Have you tried posting the question to Forumosa.com? I really need to update this lens...hard to find the time. Good luck! Post back with any info you find!

Thanks for the information-great lens. Since it's been 2 years since you created the site, is there any horseback riding available now near Kaohsiung? I have been riding for about 15 years and it's hard to give it up, but I live in Kaohsiung so I am not sure what to do. Please advise :)

I know, I'm a bit behind on updating the horse club info here and I've many more clubs I should add. I also have to get to work on the Chinese words and phrases section. But with the baby due later this month, my work this and other lenses is sporadic.
