Tamil Tigers, First Terrorists in the World to have Aircraft - Bought by Tsunami Aid

What an Upside Down World We Live In - Tsunami Aid
Re-Arms Tamil Tiger Terrorists, and Re-Ignites War

The LTTE (Tamil Tigers) are a well known bunch of thugs who through stunning public relations have managed to persuade the press they are freedom fighters!

See this to see how people are being duped by the LTTE.

Unable to accept any challenge to them and him who must be obeyed, their leader, who now appears to be dead they have constantly killed or threatened any opposition. Tamils have been particularly singled out, especially the Tamil media. As a terrorist organisation they have to have the media on their side.

The disguises they assume to do this are breathtaking in their audacity. Posing as human rights activists, charity and aid workers, they have been spectacularly successful in controlling the media coverage.

To put your head above the parapet and challenge them is a very brave thing to do as you then run the gauntlet of their poison and risk being murdered.

One such example is all the threats Douglas Wickramaratne, a UK campaigner and spokesperson for Sri Lankan people has endured. As president of the Sinhala Association, for many years, without any Government backing, he has been a lone voice informing the media of the truth.

Police are currently investigating more Sri Lankan Tamil Tiger supporters who under pretence of being human rights activists have been making death threats against him.

Douglas Wickramaratne represents peace loving Sri Lankans, including Tamils who don't want to be represented by experts in trafficking, drug dealing, child abduction and suicide bombing.

The fact is there is no problem now between the different races in Sri Lanka except in the North areas controlled by the terrorists. Prominent Tamils who enter mainstream life are punished and assassinated, the entire Tamil population is starved of aid funds and woe betide any other Tamil political party leaders or journalists. They are all on the Tiger's death list, considered traitors to the Tamil Tiger cause.

Now as a result of money being given to charities money laundering and collecting funds for terrorists, Sri Lanka now has the world's first terrorists with their own light aircraft. It was smuggled in as tsunami aid! A pretty upside down state of affairs I'd say.

The role of the Sri Lankan High Commission

How well have they performed?

The Sri Lankan High Commission in common with many third world countries seems to be unable to embrace, celebrate and make use of its number one resource, people.

Mainly because of the High Commissioner's need to be seen as number one they tend to undermine talented people who could help get the message out. They operate in a very heavy handed and for the most part are not media savvy.

Good God, was it not embarrassing to watch the Sri Lankan High Commissioner, Jayasinga on Newsnight,? He could barely speak English, let alone communicate. This person does great PR for the Tamil Tigers. It was funny to watch Jeremy Paxman so bored by him too.

How well has the Sri Lankan High Commission done getting out the truth about the Tamil Tigers to Western media?

They have failed over the years as they were too busy playing politics to utilise resources available, such as great speakers of the Sinhala Association

slfocus says:

In the recent times (last 5,6 years) High commission has done it's job. But remember it took more than 20 years to get LTTE banned and 20 years is a very long time by any means.

ksuaris says:

very indifferently in my opinion

LoneCyclist says:

Shame, they have failed. Perhaps its understandable, they have tiny budgets and are appointed mainly on connections not merit.

What's unforgiveable is them getting in the way of independent people who can help.

The bigger picture demands that all people in government put aside their egos and work as a team with all people who are talented enough to get world opinion galvanised on the side of truth

They have succeeded in getting the truth out.

Why Is It Important To Know The Truth About The Tamil Tigers

- why it can make a difference

All countries are affected by this terrorism. The Tamil Tigers have a vested interest in spinning the story that they are a minority badly treated. The people in the North are being made poorer and poorer while the Tigers get richer and richer.

Of course some people have fled the North as they are dead scared their children will be stolen by the TIgers and turned into child soldiers. Understanding who the Tigers really are helps everyone and helps to cut off funding.

So many people are forced into giving money to this outfit and the Tigers benefit from the lies they circulate.

Anytime anyone supports the Tamil Tigers they are helping to destroy the Tamils, the Muslims and the Singalese people.

The truth is these people are murdering ruthless criminals who have continually hoodwinked the world into pretending they are somehow people fighting a just cause.

Its a bit like the people who believed in Mao, Pol Pot or communism as being a good thing for poor people.

Its just not true. I am amazed how in this day and age people can be so easiy deceived. I am also amazed by how aid agencies don't do anything to dispel the myths.

I speak to journalists who have no idea of what is really happening in Sri Lanka. Knowledge is one the keys to freedom. Just by knowing the truth you are part of the solution. This is an eternal truth.

Why is Labour MP Keith Vaz continually supporting the Tamil Tigers? He appears at meetings given by the LTTE and is cheered by people who condone murder.

The BBC & The Tamil Tigers

Why does the BBC insist on calling these terrorists rebels?

I cannot for the life of me understand how the BBC dares to call these murderers and child abductors rebels. Did we call the IRA rebels?

Where does this term, rebels, come from?

There are many articles on the BBC website which look like they were written by the proganda unit of the Tamil Tigers.

see this article which mentions the murder of a minister by them but never once calls them terrorists or murderers.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7333981.stm

There is another article written by Dumeetha Luthra which surely must be shortened to Dumb once you realise how inaccurate this article is.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/5051652.stm

She talks about the Tiger's suicide bombers as if they are heroes, swallowing the line of the Tigers without once mentioning how they are coerced into this. They are bought off with promises of how their family will be looked after together with threats of what willh apppen if they do not "volunteer".

How can this woman Dumeetha call herself a journalist if she can't see through the big sell of the Tigers.

She obviously has not been out there and gone out undercover to speak to locals and find out the true story.

How dare the BBC add to this problem, which is causing deaths of innocents by publishing over the years so many articles glamourising the Tigers and not naming and shaming them as terrorists.

Why do they never report on the people who want to leave the Tigers and can't because the leadership will not allow it.

How about those that are trapped in the Wanni jungle and only allowed out one day a year! I know personally of one man from the Basque terrorists desperate to get out. He joined the Tigers, realised the leader was corrupt and he had made a mistake. Now he's trapped.

Please see vote below and let me know what you think.

The fact is such inaccurate and biased reporting helps to give these terrorists confidence and more funding.

Why does the BBC never help report that it is difficult as the government to deal with this threat and the fact that some mistakes will inevitably happen? Its not that anybody condones violence by the military but some stuff will happen that no-one is proud of when the military and civilians are continually being killed by the Tigers.

War is a messy nasty business and if you are dealing with terrorists who refuse to stop killing people horrible things happen as a result. The solution is for the Tamil Tigers to allow the Tamils to be free and stop holding them hostage to their terrorist organisation.

Is the BBC right to call the Tiger terrorists rebels?

Shouldn't terrorists in Sri Lanka be called terrrorists as they are in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the US?

Please shove a vote in here. Its important .

Do you agree the Tigers should be called terrorists or criminals and not rebels by the BBC.

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

Yes

ksuaris says:

yes I agree

Adam H says:

Anyone who resorts to violence in the name of a cause is a terrorist. I don't see why the two sides can't be brought together under a UN sanctioned peace process. It's time peoples all over the world began to understand that the issues which breed violence are just the stories by which human beings propagate violence, disconnection and hatred. How much harder but ultimately more rewarding it is for people to access the nobler feelings and intentions to create, foster or accept relationships with people? Come on peoples of Sri Lanka. Unite!

KUMAR says:

100% TERROISTS

LoneCyclist says:

Yes, calling them rebels gives them some kind of moral authority they do not possess. They are terrorising the Tamils too.

No

Mayor of London and Tamil Tigers

The despicable role of Ken Livingstone with the Tigers- Thank God he's out

Ken Livingstone in his quest for votes at any cost courted the Tamil Tigers see below for more.

He managed to completely ignore the killings of shopkeepers in the borough of Brent where he lived. These Tamil shopkeepers were killed by the Tamil Tigers for refusing to pay protection money to the Tigers. Their families were threatened and the Tamil Tigers got away with it.

Since when did it become to ignore extortion and executions?

Subject: Sympathy for the Devil

by Stephen Long, Los Angeles

Yesterday's heartless bomb blast aboard a public bus carrying students near University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka that killed 21 and injured over 61 civilians reminded me of that Rolling Stones anthem of the early 70's: "Sympathy for the Devil."

"Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste.
I've been around for a long, long years
Stole many a man's soul and faith.

And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate.

I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank.

I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made.

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
And what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

Thank you, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for those timeless and insightful lyrics about the consummate evil megalomaniac. Have you guessed who these lyrics refer to these days? Of course: the devil himself, Mr. V. Prabhakaran, the leader of those merry cadres up north in Sri Lanka who's "Stole many a man's soul and faith." Prabhakaran, the man who "washes his hands and seals the fate" of the innocent lives he destroys on a whim. The same man, Prabhakaran, who seems willing to "fight for ten decades," and hold the "general's rank" while "the bodies stank" in the streets of Colombo. We know "the nature of your game," Prabhakaran; we're not puzzled at all.

What really gets me is how could there possibly be anyone alive on the planet that would still have sympathy for a notorious devil like Prabhakaran, leader of the LTTE murder cult. After that senseless wasting of human lives in Moratua, what did it gain him? What was the purpose, other than to demonstrate his twisted will? Doesn't everyone see that his perverted ego is the motivating force behind the killings; his ego and the delusional vision he has of himself at the helm of an independent Tamil state in Sri Lanka? How can anyone still support him and his cause after yet this latest senseless act of cold-blooded murder?

And yet, there are many around the world who DO support Prabhakaran and the LTTE. Why? Their media machine is strong, and their public relations mechanisms have loud, resounding, powerful voices. They have managed to convince many groups of people in influential positions, in important international organizations, that they are underdog freedom fighters - deserving of the public's sympathy. Their media and lobbying efforts have seemingly won over honorable men like Jimmy Carter and Desmond Tutu. They've even managed to pull the wool over the eyes of the United Nations.

They have many weapons in their arsenal in addition to those hideous Claymore bombs. Their media and public relations weapons are the ones they are using most skillfully. They've even hired a mercenary of former high repute to be captain of their campaign: Bruce Fein, a former US Deputy Attorney General; he's now their highly-paid ($100,000 a month) mouthpiece in Washington D.C. Last year LTTE operatives were even caught trying to bribe US State Department Officials. What's next? They'll do anything to promote their "image" as the downtrodden, stepped-on, discriminated-against people of Sri Lanka. But is killing countless numbers of innocent people (don't forget, he kills innocent Tamils, too) really the warranted punishment for ancient sins that should have been resolved and forgotten centuries ago?

Wake up, people. Whatever ills may have been committed against Sri Lankan Tamils in the past are nothing compared to the murder of innocent students and pregnant women - whose unborn babies will never see the light of day.

Don't be fooled by the Devil - and don't have sympathy for him either!

Get real! Sympathy for Prabhakaran is nothing more than blatant ignorance. It's time this demented ogre was permanently retired - and I'm looking forward to the day when they don't give him a gold watch, but a prison cell as his reward.

Another Bomb in Colombo

A Blast in Colombo kiils 44

So yet another bomb by the Tamil Tigers in Colombo. This time they killed 44 outright. As usual these monsters don't even own up to the killings. They killed Rajiv Gandhi and could not own upto it, even though their top guy was filmed discussing the murder!

The Tamil Tigers are a cowardly group and anyone funding them should be ashamed of themselves.

Why do we glamourise terrorists?

There's no excuse in todays age of communication to resort to violence instead of dialogue. There are no deprived minorities in Sri Lanka. There is a nation that is terrorised, paralysed and not allowed to progress by a minority who thinks weapons and suicide bombers are a sign of strength

"STOP THE HEARBREAK IN SRI LANKA - SUPPORT THE GOVERNMENT TO STOP THE TAMIL TIGERS"

Sri Lanka Held Back By The Tamil Tigers

Sri Lanka has work to do. For 25 years it has been held hostage by the Tamil Tigers (LTTE)

At one time, Singapore said Sri Lanka was the country it most wanted to emulate. We had a highly educated workforce and were on the way to lifting thousands out of poverty.

Instead we have to deal with the Pol Pot of Sri Lanka, Prabhakaran. This man kidnaps children to use as suicide bombers, and kills Tamil shopkeepers worldwide who do not give him protection money.

This man sends his children to expensive schools in the West.

He wants to provoke the government by killing soldiers and civilians even after so called cease-fires are agreed.

Sri Lanka has a country to feed, to educate. It has slipped to a country just surviving with this massive bleeding of its resources.

It has to educate its people, police and politicians.
When a country is subsumed with war things sink to the lowest common denominator. That is the nature of war.

At present some of the business people and the Sri Lankan cricket team are the only things Sri Lanka can look to with pride. If there was no war Sri Lanka could excel in all fields.

War is not noble. Terrorism is disgusting. It provides the perfect territory for human behaviour to sink to the lowest level.

War is not needed, nor wanted in Sri Lanka except by the Tamil Tigers. They are the only group who insist on using terrorism as a tactic to break up a tiny island about 300 miles by 50 miles wide.

There are many other Tamil groups engaging quite happily with the political process but in fear of their lives from the Tamil Tigers. How crazy is that?

Are the Tamil Tigers justified in continuing this war

I don't believe there is any justification for the Tigers to continue. Prabakharan is a madman. He keeps his people in abject poverty in the north of Sri Lanka. In the rest of Sri Lanka people live together and work together. In the north its his mafia that control what happens. This man even burnt tsunami aid and said all aid must come through the Tigers.

Are the Tigers justified in continuing this war?

TORRENTIAL RAIN IN SRI LANKA

HEARTBREAK

Its always raining in Sri Lanka. The tears of thousands who have lost loved ones thanks to the Tamil Tigers whose leader reigns over his killing fields.

When will the West realise that the man leading them, is a madman drunk on power?

His children and relatives go to expensive schools in the West while the Tamils rot in poverty and Sri Lanka is held back having to waste resources on this war. Mia makes money as a singer dressing as a terrorist.

Its totally sickening to meet rich Tamils who have made their money off the blood of the poor and the vulnerable.

BACKGROUND

BACKGROUND

This is going back some years. It does not excuse the past but nor is any of it an excuse to keep dishing out the violence today.

Questions

Where did all this violence come from?

Who is manipulating it for their own advantage?

Who is driving it forwards?

HISTORY

Sri Lanka when it became independent had an inbuilt problem that eventually exploded.

It was built by years of British rule, which resulted in an Irish problem. The majority in all major areas of influence where ruled by a privileged minority- the Tamils.

The Tamils, understandably in a protective lets keep the status quo way, were not interested in sharing power when the British left. They had benefited enormously and they saw no reason to change anything.

They dominated the legal side, the civil service and all positions of ambassadors worldwide (except 2 in some minor countries) where held by Tamils. The old boy's network was firmly tipped in the Tamil's direction.

The Tamils were known to make entry into university easier for Tamils and revelled in the main language being English. It allowed them not to use the national language Singhalese and sidelined the local population even more, especially the poor as they would not have the means to learn another language.

These were the grievances that the UK was not clever enough to address in a responsible manner before Sri Lanka (Ceylon as it was then known) went independent.

The British had instigated this complete imbalance. By giving power to a minority that would never normally have that much influence they ensured the loyalty of the Tamils and rule of the island.

So you can see it was an unhappy place. Its akin to the UK having a foreign power leave, inheriting governmental power and finding that the Polish who had primarily come over for work were ruling all the important things and still speaking the language of the foreign power as the main language!

It stuck in the throats of many and some started agitating for change.

Legislation was passed to make it easier for Singhalese people to get access to education and land. This is similar to quotas being introduced to give women or disabled access to equal opportunities. The official language was changed to Singhalese.

The fact is that without this affirmative action statistics would not have changed much. In Sri Lanka it was highly unlikely to change without affirmative action. Granted it could have been done more diplomatically and with more assurances for the Tamil people.

A more sophisticated approach however was beyond the politics at the time. We are talking pre-internet and mobile phones and government in a newly independent country.

Tamils felt aggrieved by this but I suppose having no way to make their feelings heard they took to violence and got hoodwinked into supporting a Marxist ruthless terrorist group.

The LTTE (Tamil Tigers) murdered 13 soldiers with a landmine in 1983. This led to rioting by angry Sinhalese and many Tamils (around 400) being killed. The government were too slow to react and this stoked violence further.

It is interesting to note that colossal evidence of the poor being manipulated by the LTTE has since come out. People mysteriously being given addresses and names of people identified as Tamils. Most people would not know were Tamils were living to such a degree of accuracy.

A couple of hundred of civilians were killed as the LTTE went into the one of most sacred spots to Buddhists and attacked the Bodhi tree, under which Buddha was said to have sheltered as he obtained enlightenment.

It was a pretty stupid thing to do if you were interested in peacefully working things out.

It was a really clever thing if you wanted to start a war. Boy, did it start.

The rules of engagement were pretty bloody and the emphasis that the Tamil Tigers put on recruiting young men into the war (easy to capture, brainwash, trigger happy and easy to control) put all young men in Sri Lanka under suspicion for years.

I know my brother was arrested once for nothing other than being a young man.

Sri Lanka is a small island, current population is 17 million with around 8% Tamil and less than half of those living in the north

One of the things that really got up the noses of the Singhalese was that the Tamil terrorists hooked up for support from the 50 million Tamils in Southern India in Tamil Nadu!

They had training camps there and bought the Indian government into the dispute.

Indira Gandhi supported the terrorist groups as a way of getting support for her party. How immoral is that? They eventually assassinated her son Rajiv Gandhi.

Lives of thousands trashed for this woman to get into power!

It was a ridiculous situation of personal agendas driving the war and not the good of the innocent people who were being used as puppets.

India sent peacekeeping forces to Sri Lanka to quieten down what was an extremely poor population (easy to manipulate by the terrorists) in Tamil Nadu. They did not want uprisings.

India dropped aid from the air and the Singhalese in a moment of humour said they hoped they were coconuts and would hit the terrorists on the head.

It just got really stupid from then on as both sides escalated the violence.

There were atrocities on all sides committed as this power struggle took place. The Tamil Tigers just mired in fighting were never been interested in peace. They used cease-fires to re-arm and the Singhalese got very fed up with cease-fires that led to greater violence when hostilities were resumed.

The horrendous thing was the Sri Lankan government received practically no help from abroad and was not equipped to deal with ruthless terrorists. Their failures gave rise to the JVP, an equally awful party dedicated saving Sri Lanka for Sri Lankans. They felt that too much was being given away. Its not forgiveable, buts it's understandable.

It was mayhem. Terrorist groups all over the place, politicians killed and the Tamil Tigers annihilating all Tamil opposition to them.

Politicians were involved in all sorts of shennigans, and under Premadasa Sri Lanka entered a particularly dark era. He was eventually assassinated by his own people who were desperate to get rid of him.

Other Tamil groups PLOT, TULF etc gave up violence and entered the political process so too did the JVP. It took time and many atrocities committed on all sides. Throughout this time Tamil Tigers just got stronger and kept up their PR assault on the international media whilst their income grew and grew as their fraud rackets got larger. Some conservative estimates suggested $25 million a month. Tamils in the North had to pay extortion rackets run by them and many left to go south in Sri Lanka where they could live peacefully, educate their children and do business or they went abroad.

Sri Lanka is beset with a tragic history but it is the past.

The rest of the country has made progress from those dark days. Tamils are now integrated at the highest levels of all areas in the country but the North under the control of the Tigers remains in the dark ages.

The Tamil Tigers Focussed on Hatred

There is a belief being proved by science in interesting ways that what you focus on you create. These people are focused on killing and destroying in ways that normal people not hung up on violence would find hard to appreciate.

These terrorists are hardly likely to be the people involved in life enhancing activities. They live in an inner world of cruelty and violence. Its who they are. The so called cause has very little to do with it.

Its a bit like the person who is always complaining or someone who is always talking about ill health. That's what they do, regardless of the real world. They live in that world where everything is wrong. That's what they are focused on.

They are involved in drug running and sex trafficking. Their morals stink. This is not a cause. Its a seedy business bent on destruction and power.

Peace lies in exposing the truth of who they are relentlessly and not allow them to put on false clothes of an oppressed people. Tamil people are free to move around the island and set up business in Colombo and the South. Singalese people (the majority) and Muslim people can only do so in the South. In the North Tamil (LTTE) areas they are in fear of their lives and have to pay the LTTE protection money.

The fall out of this affects more than people in the country. Other countries suffer from economic refugees, some of whom make it, many more of whom live lonely isolated lives getting by often illegally.

There is a real problem between the different races. The stakes have changed, The business people together with young people who have access to the internet realise the game is global and Sri Lanka splitting into some kind of fiefdom with a kind of mafia controlled operation in the North run by the LTTE is not the way forward for everlasting peace and prosperity for the island.

All politicians would hugely benefit the country if they can put aside their differences (regardless of party) and work as servants of the people to create harmony. There is nothing else that matters.

It doesn't matter what party rules, its the unification of this tiny island that matters.
