How do you feel about the Nutcracker ballet?

    I remember having a long playing record of music from this ballet when I was a child. I played it again and again. I appreciate how you have included music lesson plans and teacher guides for the Nutcracker. FYI, I have added this lens to the featured lenses module of my Tchaikovsky lens.

    It is beautiful ballet and i am delighted I found the musical part in public domain on MUSEOPEN. I recommend it, it is pure ear pleasure.

    My daughter is a ballet dancer and so I have been involved behind the scenes at various Nutcrackers over the past 8 years. It was very exciting this year as she danced the role of Snow and Flowers. The music is so well known. Flowers is my favorite. I have also been fortunate enough to watch the top Nutcracker performances in the US at NY City Ballet, Pacific Northwest and San Francisco.     Thank you, Alison! I haven't seen it yet in the big cities, but hope to in the future. My daughter was a dancing candy many years ago (her costume looked like a candy cane). Thanks for sharing your story! =D

    I like the Nutcracker music and enjoyed the ballet when I saw it live in Egypt on Christmas Day in 1996.

    OMG, it is my Christmas favorite -- saw it performed in Atlanta OH so many years ago -- the best yet! I think my one sister danced in the Nutcracker!

    Yes, I did see a live performance of the Nutcracker Ballet.
    It was in 1971 in Toronto, Ontario.

    Nice! I promised to accompany my kid to a Nutcracker ballet next year and I'm planning to let her read this lens first so that she'll get an idea on what we are going to watch. Thanks for coming up with this lens.

    Lots of great information here. I love the nutcracker. We used to go year after year, then to Royal NZ Ballet decided to "modernize" it. My daughter whispered "what's going on?" and I whispered back, "I have no idea."
