Our Top Tips To Get Started In Modeling
1. Have a friend or family member take some photos of you so that you can get a feel for the camera.
2. Learn all that you can about the fashion/modeling industry- read magazines, learn who the top photographers, models, agencies and designers are. It is a big plus when you know what the industry is all about.
3. Find a good reputable modeling agency - you do not ever pay a modeling agency, a modeling agency makes their money from commissions that they make from getting you jobs - they will take anywhere from 10 - 20% depending on agency. Submit your photos to the agencies via emial, post mail or by going to an open call - where you visit with the modeling agency.
4.You do not ever have to pay a modeling agency for photographs - you pay the photography studios and photographers directly. Agencies may refer you to a list of photographers that they like working with and who can deliver the photos the agency are looking for. Some of our favorite people in the industry are the photographers - they are great :)
5. Freelance modeling - we never recommend freelance modeling to models. Freelance modeling is when you work without a modeling agency. We feel that there is just not enough saftey if it. Always think saftey first!
