You don't need to take pills, get scammed by gimmicks. All you need to do is start small. Don't tell yourself that you're on a diet. Because you're not. I'm going to give you ten tips to a healthier you. These tips are free and are easy to use.
Diets Aren't For Everyone.
When I think of going on a diet my body freaks out. I worry about how much food I can stuff myself with before I begin. That's not healthy. I can't tell you how many times I've seen an ad online about losing so many pounds in so many weeks. This isn't about losing as much as you can. You need to rethink your approach to weight loss. Healthy living is more important than dropping pounds as fast as you can. You have to make changes that will last a lifetime. Diets aren't a lifetime choice. Once they're over you will most likely gain the weight back and more.
No More Junk Food.
Also don't goto the grocery store on an empty stomach. You're more likely to make unhealthy choices while you're hungry. Try eating a healthy snack before going to the grocery store.
Try Snacking Smarter.
You don't have to give up snacking. A lot of us need something extra between meals and it's alright. After giving up junk food you'll need something to replace it. I've found a great solution that might work for you. Ever heard of Better N' Peanut Butter? It's a low fat peanut butter. It's a very tasty alternative to regular peanut butter. I had to find something that would fill my want of potato chips. You know that salty goodness we crave. What you need is a box of reduced fat crackers that you like and a jar of better n' peanut butter. You take a few crackers and spread them on a plate and take a butter knife and put some of this peanut butter on them. Their site also has some lower fat recipes that look great. They have regular and chocolate flavored. I prefer the chocolate flavored personally. You can find this brand in your local grocery stores. Their site has a store locator. This is an easy way to find out if your local grocer carries the brand.
Increase The Amount Of Steps You Take.
Get yourself a pedometer and wear it for a week. Put it on when you first get out of bed and wear it until you goto bed. Make sure you take it off before your shower and put it back on after. Keep a piece of paper on a desk near your bed so you can write down how many steps you take. Do this daily for one week. After that add all your daily steps together and divide it by how many days you did this. You'll then get your average steps per day. Now times that by 10%. Say I take 1000 steps per day average. Ten percent of that would be 100. Try increasing your daily average steps by that 10%. If you don't have enough by the end of the day then walk around some more before bed time and get in those few extra steps. Or if it's getting close to bed time then do it before. Don't tell yourself that you'll do it tomorrow. That is a bad habit to begin and break.
After a month has gone by repeat this and just keep adding more steps to your daily routine. Instead of taking the elevator use the stairs. Try to find more creative ways to get your daily steps in. Small increases won't be so noticeable and you'll be able to do more as you shed a few pounds. Just don't try overdoing it. This is about small changes that will last you a lifetime.

I've seen a lot of people who use youtube to document their weight loss. It's a way to motivate themselves to make a change in their life. They put themselves out there for encouragement. By doing this you'll be inspiring others to live healthier.
I do have to warn you though that there are people out there that like to put others down. Just ignore people like this. They don't care about you and what you're going through. Remember the high school bully? Well they never grew up, they just found a new way to hurt others. This is the internet and they can't physically hurt you. Don't let them do it emotionally. If they make a comment on your video that's harassing and rude then give them a thumb's down. I'm sure others will do the same. Don't reply to them either. That will only feed their fire.

I don't care what people may say. Fat is just that fat. You need to find a better way to flavor your foods. Spices are a great way to add flavor to bland food. One way to cut down on fat is to trim your meat. When I cook chicken breasts I make sure to get rid of the skin. There are skinless varieties at the grocery store, but I prefer split breast chicken since it's cheaper and works well with my dutch oven. If you go with skinless breasts be sure to trim any fat that may be on the meat.
I've found a way to spice up your meat and control portions. There's a new thing out called Flavor Magic. This is a blend of spices on a sheet. You put it on your meat and let it sit for a few minutes then peel off the backing and cook. This is a very new way of cooking. I know some of us struggle trying to find a great seasoning blend and this is an answer to that problem.

Switch To Whole Grains And Whole Wheat.
I use to be a person that stayed away from whole wheat and whole grains. I didn't want anything to do with them. Couldn't even get me to try them. Now I won't go near white bread. I do cook my pizzas with a blend of whole what flour and white flour. I would get rid of all the white flour, but the crust would be too chewy. You can start slow and gradually replace your white bread with whole grains, but make sure you do it.

I've lived with diabetics who couldn't control their sugars. It's a very dangerous situation and you need to take steps to live healthier. All my tips will help you. Try Using A Smaller Plate.
I'm beginning to believe that our eyes are connected to our stomachs. Use it to your advantage. By using a smaller plate you'll trick your eyes into thinking you have more. Instead of pilling food on a big plate you'll be putting food on a smaller plate. The idea is not to starve yourself, but tricking your eyes into thinking you have as much as you use to. It's a small step that can help you over a lifetime.Also if you overeat then you'll feel fatigued and won't be able to walk around and burn off some of the meal. Remember you want to eat slightly less. Don't stop eating before you start to feel full. Once you feel full then that's it stop eating.
Kick The Soda Habit.
I don't care if it's a diet soda, get rid of it. You can pack on ten pounds a year by drinking soda. It's a bad habit and should be phased out. Every time you goto a grocery store and see that 12 or 24 pack of soda remind yourself that it's a ten pound weight gain. Replace it with a healthier drink. Try drinking water and flavoring it with a flavor pack. There's a lot of brands to choose from. Be sure that it's low calorie. Five calories per packet is ideal.Just a reminder about sodas. When it says 120 calories, it doesn't mean per can. It's per serving. Most cans are 12 oz. That's a serving and a half. That little 120 calorie soda is now 180 calories. That's quite an increase in calorie intake. By flavoring your water you can save 175 calories per 12 oz of water compared to the same size of a cola can.
Find A Cook Book That's Fits Your Needs.
There are a lot of cook books out there. You need to find one that is right for you. I have a recommendation to help get you started. Also think about changing everyone's food needs. It's easier to stick with something if everyone else is doing it. You can change more than just yourself when you include others.
