Top Ten Summer Skincare Products from Mary Kay

I soon found that Mary Kay products are really not very expensive, especially since most of them last for months, almost a year even, with normal usage. So I've stocked up on a whole collection. Now I'm excited to be able to take good care of my skin this summer. Oh, and if you decide you want any of the products, just buy them online - the links are right there under the products. Some products come in combination to oily as well as normal to dry, so make sure you get the right one for your skin. And the "Big Arrow" is a link to my daughter's Mary Kay website!

What do you need in the summer? Sunscreen of course! And this is the best sunscreen - it's not greasy and smelly like so many sunscreens are. It's delightfully light and applies smoothly, and it works!

This Mary Kay SPF 30 Sunscreen is lightweight and oil-free and absorbs quickly, leaving your skin feeling soft and moisturized. It's great for your face and body. It's also enriched with antioxidant vitamins and other goodies to keep your skin happy and healthy.

But you know, no matter how diligently you apply sunscreen your skins needs some pampering after a long day out in the hot sun. Mary Kay After-Sun Replenishing Gel is just the stuff!

It's a gel so it seems to cool off your hot skin just immediately. Of course the cool blue color helps!

And it's really light, not heavy and greasy so it goes on so smoothly and feels so good. It is formulated with botanical extracts rich in antioxidants so it really is good for your skin. You just feel all hydrated and refreshed!

After-Sun Replenishing Gel

A part of the body that often suffers especially in the summer is the décolleté region of the neck and upper chest. Goodness, after wrapping up warm in scarves and stuff all winter now wonder the delicate skin of the neck and chest just burns up as soon as we rush outside in the sun! So here's a great addition to your skincare regimen - this SPF 15 cream is specially designed to protect that sensitive area, and it doubles as a great hand cream for the summer.

I love this cream - it isn't greasy but it is substantial and feels so nourishing to the skin. And it should, it's packed full of goodies from fruits and berries and other ingredients. It's designed to minimize that "crepe-like" look, reduce lines and wrinkles and dark age spots, firm up the skin, and protect against UV damage.

Hand and Décolleté Cream

Now there's still one part of your body that needs special attention in the summer - your lips! No matter how delightful your sunscreen is, you just don't want it all over your lips. But your lips are sensitive, and they certainly need protection from the sun. So here's a great Lip Protector from Mary Kay. It comes in a stick like a lip balm, but it's so much more.

For starters it's SPF 15. And it also has moisturizers and antioxidants to keep your lips protected from the effects of sun and wind. It's nice and light so it's quite invisible, not all greasy, but it keeps your lips moist and soft. And of course you can add your favorite lipstick or lip gloss on top!

Now even if you use the Mary Kay Lip Protector, your lips still deserve more! Before trying Satin Lips I always had several Chapsticks around, one in my purse, one in the bedroom, the bathroom, by the front door, you name it! I applied it several times a day, and still felt my lips were dry and chapped whatever the weather. Then came the Mary Kay Satin Lips and everything changed!

The Satin Lips set consists of a mask that is used first to remove the dry, dead skin from the outer layer of the lips. Without doing this, the moisturizer cannot penetrate sufficiently to provide a lasting effect. That's one reason all those Chapsticks need many applications every day! When you apply the Satin Lips mask it feels gritty and rather strange since lips are sensitive. But if you do it in the shower together with the cleanser it feels pretty good and washes off easily!

Applying the moisturizer feels really good, like the lips are really soft. And the best part is they don't dry out for hours! I usually apply the Satin Lips moisturizer in the morning and I'm set for the day. That's a miracle!

And after you've got your Satin Lips you need Satin Hands! This is a wonderful set from Mary Kay that really cares for your hands. Not only does it really work to make your hands smooth (and feet too if you want real luxury!) the scrub smells divinely of peaches. I love it!

There are three parts to this set. First, is the Extra Emollient Night Cream, a really thick goopy cream, that you apply all over the hands. Just remember not to have any jewelry on when you do this!

Next, comes the deliciously peach scented Hand Scrub. This comes in a pump dispenser, called "convenient" but actually the top of mine is hard to turn. It's impossible once that Extra Emollient Night Cream is on, so I have to remember to twist the top to unlock it before putting that on! The scrub is really gritty and you just rub it all over your hands and enjoy the peach fragrance. Then, you wash it off and your hands feel oh so smooth.

The final step is to apply the Hand Lotion. This doesn't smell of peach, but is quite pleasant in a neutral sort of way so the peach aroma lingers. The full Satin Hands treatment is necessary only once or twice a week, so the set lasts quite a long time.

This is really the cornerstone of Mary Kay skincare. Whatever the season this is what you need to keep your skin happy and healthy.

First off is the 3-in-1 cleanser, so called because it cleanses, exfoliates, and freshens your skin all in one step. That's time saving, and money saving - I love it!

The Day and Night solution set is really a miracle product! It preserves the skin's youthful elasticity and restores any vitality that has already been lost due to aging. You just add it in easily to your normal skincare regimen, applying after cleansing and before moisturizing. Doesn't feel greasy or anything, and you just need a little to do the job.

The Night solution does it's thing all night - great stuff! And the Day solution even includes SPF 25 sunscreen. Now that's really a plus - how many times do you end up going outside "just for a minute" and end up getting a red nose because you didn't put any sunscreen on? Used to happen to me all the time. Now with this Mary Kay Day solution I can stay outside without worrying about my face going red!

Finally we have the moisturizer. Now I always had trouble with moisturizers - they were either too greasy or too light. But this moisturizer is just perfect! I put it on and my combination skin face feels smooth and hydrated all over for hours.

Miracle Set

The Microderm Abrasion set was something I thought I didn't need at first, but now I really love it! I mean, all those 11 benefits in the Miracle set seemed like they should be enough for me. But once I tried this, I was hooked. Even though it seems like a bit of an extra expense, I only use them once or twice a week, so they last a really long time.

Step 1 is the exfoliator. It's really really gritty! Like rubbing fine sand on your face - doesn't hurt though, just a bit tingly! But make sure you wash it all off. There's nothing worse than finding the crystals making their way down to your mouth later. I use it in the shower and get a good rinse that way. The point of this exfoliation is to really get down to the lower layer of skin, getting rid of the dried dead cells and exposing healthy new skin for the next step.

Step 2 is the replenisher. This is an amazing rich lotion of vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-irritants - just what young healthy skin needs to grow! It really feels like you're feeding the skin, feels so good!

Microderm Abrasion Set

Now this is time to be honest! Do you have the perfectly toned body that you want to display in the summer? Of course not! So Mary Kay has products that help you firm and tone up your skin. I just love this product because it does the job of multiple products all in one, and by the time summer rolls around it's definitely time to speed up and simplify the process!

This body toning lotion is designed to fortify the skin, toning and firming it, to energize the skin cells, and to minimize damage from UV exposure and protect the skin from future damage. It also smells delightful!

I just can't leave "Mint Bliss" out of this list! This is really a special treatment for the feet, and feet deserve to be pampered - they work hard and get so tired and that just makes you feel tired. "Mint Bliss" is called an energizing lotion, and it's light and refreshing, not heavy and greasy. Just a little perks the feet right up!

I find I can use it when I want to wake up but my feet are tired, or equally when I go to bed and sleep because somehow it helps my feet relax and all their stress just disappears. On hot sweaty nights it makes my feet feel cool and refreshed, much easier to sleep!

This lotion really helps to hydrate feet in the summer months when feet get exposed to a lot! Whether you go barefoot or wear sandals, go to the beach or just walk around hot and dirty streets, an extra dose of lotion on the feet is such a joy.
