The plot
Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale), the man fated to be the leader of the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators, and the future he was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they find out a terrible secret that may lead to the possible annihilation of mankind. Bale first caught the public eye when he was cast in the starring role of Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun at the age of 13, playing an English boy who becomes separated from his parents and subsequently finds himself lost in a Japanese internment camp during World War II.
Since then, he has portrayed a wide range of characters. Bale is especially noted for his cult following. The tenth anniversary issue of Entertainment Weekly hailed him as one of the "Top 8 Most Powerful Cult Figures of the Past Decade", citing his impressive cult status on the internet. Entertainment Weekly called Bale one of the "Most Creative People in Entertainment", after his performance in American Psycho.

Joseph "McG" McGinty Nichol (born August 9, 1968) is an American film and television producer and director. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was nicknamed McG from birth to differentiate him from his uncle and grandfather, also named Joe.
His films (as director) include Charlie's Angels, and its sequel Full Throttle as well as We Are Marshall. His television series credits include Fastlane, The O.C., Supernatural, Chuck and Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll.
He is currently directing the next installment of the Terminator franchise: Terminator Salvation. McG is next expected to direct a prequel to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for Disney, and then a fifth Terminator sequel.
