I am very confused by this idea that I would want to consume these chocolate oranges any way other than straight out of the wrapper.
  • Ramona W Nov 3, 2011 @ 10:52 pm | delete
One of my favorite parts of Christmas! I've already been looking for it in stores but so far no luck. Can't remember when they came out last year :( I want my Terry's chocolate!!!
  • BigGirlBlue Nov 3, 2011 @ 11:45 pm | delete
We can get them year round in Ontario although they tend to be more expensive off season.

  • TravelingRae Jun 11, 2011 @ 11:44 pm | delete
I haven't seen one of these in years. :( There's nothing like the taste of orange and chocolate together. This is the only time I prefer dark chocolate over milk, though! Thanks for the Youtube video of the Indiana Jones-like commercial; very funny!

I love Terry's Dark Chocolate Oranges! I used to get them every Christmas but I've had trouble finding them recently. I should have known Amazon or Ebay would have them. I don't have to do without one of my favorite treats now.

This lens has been blessed by a squidangel

  • HorseAndPony Jan 13, 2011 @ 7:31 pm | delete
I have never had Terry's Chocolate Orange anything. These products sound amazing. I need the cheese cake now!
  • theraggededge Jan 12, 2011 @ 4:29 pm | delete
One or two wedges a day?? C'mon. I can eat a whole one straight off. I always have them for Christmas, never at any other time of the year. I put one each in the kid's stockings - they have a designated chocolate stocking, which I can raid whenever I want. And I always give myself a TCO. xx
  • KarateKatGraphics Jan 5, 2011 @ 12:38 am | delete
I don't think we have this in the US -- will have to check at World Market, which does carry some UK candies. I love the combo of orange & chocolate (that's one of the few choc-related things hubby & I disagree on...) and would really like to try Terry's Chocolate Orange. Your idea of baking a slice of it into the center of a c. chip cookie is especially appealing.
  • Swisstoons Jan 4, 2011 @ 12:58 pm | delete
Didn't Droste, the Dutch milk chocolate company, originate the milk chocolate orange? Or was Terry's come first? I remember enjoying the Droste version each Christmas when I was a kid...a couple of centuries ago. :)
  • Brick_House_Fabrics Jan 2, 2011 @ 2:38 pm | delete
    Love it at Christmas!
  • MiaBellezza Dec 30, 2010 @ 8:44 am | delete

Oh I remember this from way back when I lived in the UK! It took a bit of getting used to, but the flavour grew on me ;-)

My kids get these for me every Christmas!
  • mom247 Dec 7, 2010 @ 11:51 pm | delete
They're hard to find here in Aus, but that doesn't stop me loving them!
  • javrsmith Dec 6, 2010 @ 5:50 pm | delete
These are absolutely essential each year. It isn't Christmas until I whack one. Blessed!
  • Pastiche Nov 22, 2010 @ 3:09 pm | delete
Hubby adores chocolate orange (dark chocolate) treats for the holidays. I prefer mint or raspberry with my dark chocolate ... your recipe ideas will be popular in our chocoholics home.
  • BigGirlBlue Nov 22, 2010 @ 7:25 pm | delete
I haven't seen the raspberry up here in years. I've never been a fan of dark chocolate but if it's Terry's I probably wouldn't turn it away. LOL
  • 24websurf Nov 17, 2010 @ 10:21 am | delete

I love chocolate oranges! But they are so hard to find in stores. Even some years at christmas time I can't find the.
  • Ramkitten Dec 21, 2009 @ 1:08 pm | delete
Never have tried orange-flavored chocolate. Sounds delish! And, you're right, that's a cute commercial. The UK makes some of the best.

Yum, its like the old Jaffas we used to hear rolling down the aisle in the theatre as kids. Great lens. Thanks for sharing those recipes. 5*

Your last comment on getting Terry's delivered to your door - Amazon does NOT have these in stock. You need to change your ad.
  • BigGirlBlue Dec 13, 2009 @ 3:17 pm | delete
Thanks! They do sell out quickly this time of year.
  • JetpackAngel Nov 13, 2009 @ 4:42 am | delete
An American here, having just seen (and bought) my first Milk Chocolate Orange in a few years, and it's only been that long because I haven't seen them around. It's still as delicious as I remember, but... *sob* MY SOUL FOR DARK CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY!!!
  • BigGirlBlue Jun 22, 2009 @ 1:04 pm | in reply to JaguarJulie | delete
It depends where you live. In some places it is just available at Christmas and New Years. And in others, like here it's available all year round except more expensive than at Christmas or New Years. I checked the Amazon link last in Spring and they had restocked. It was a good price, something like $3 a ball. Keeping watching!
  • JaguarJulie Jun 22, 2009 @ 8:03 am | delete
Wow! I had never heard of this delectable treat -- and really love that Harrison Ford-like commercial. I see that Amazon has listed this as "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available." So, this is only available at certain times of the year? How much should I expect to pay for it. I want to try it! Yumm.

I love just about anything flavored Chocolate Orange. Lensrolled into Sinful Chocolate Cakes and 5*!
  • mrscookie Mar 26, 2009 @ 5:59 pm | delete
Do you know that in the UK we can get Terry's Chocolate Orange as normal chocolate bars? It means we don't have to wait until Christmas.

My favourite advert is the Dawn French one where she says "It's not Terry's its mine!"

    I've got cravings now ...
  • mbrownauthor Jan 4, 2009 @ 1:21 pm | delete
I've tried these a couple of times, and they are yummy. You gave GREAT ideas to incorporate them into other foods. Mmmmmm! Great lens. 5*s and lensrolls.

Here are a few links I found that sell these. Though I don't know if they ship outside Canada ... I do know the first link is charging about double what you'd pay in the store, so you have to really want it. haha

You can likely order them out of Canada. Anywhere you'd find chocolate being sold they're there during the Christmas rush, starting about October right through to December. Wal-Mart, grocery stores, pharmacy's, etc. They're very popular in Canada. I don't know a person who doesn't get one in their Christmas stocking.
Sometimes you'll find them for Valentine's Day and Easter too. Not sure if this helps, but it might, so there you go. :)
  • BigGirlBlue Dec 23, 2008 @ 10:42 am | in reply to Doug | delete
Sorry Doug but it really late in the season and everyone is sold out. I found some on ebay but that's only good if you live in the UK.
  • Doug Dec 22, 2008 @ 6:11 pm | delete
I am desperately trying to order these. I love them. I ordered from Nelis Dutch shop but then today received an email saying they no longer had them. I am looking for any place to order them so any links would be great. Thanks.
  • BigGirlBlue Dec 9, 2008 @ 10:00 pm | in reply to jack | delete
You can get them at the drug store. I've also added a link where you can get a 6 pack from Amazon.
  • jack Dec 9, 2008 @ 7:44 pm | delete

Oh yes they're lovely. Lovely. Lovely. P.S Those people in the video aren't Australian, one of them would have caught the chocolate orange instantly - too fast for us to even see - we would need a slomo replay..(We're experts at catching things). And I am now throwing 5* for you to catch
