Soccer 7-A-Side

Dear all,

Good news... Finally!!!!! we will have a synthetic playing surface in the island to handle the Phuket Soccer 7s tournaments for at least the next 3-6 years. Now, we are also much more confident to bring to Phuket other sports due to the fantastic sport complex provided at Phuket International Academy, but also following all discussion with the management who has always shown us a strong motivation to promote Phuket as a sport destination!

For the first time in 9 years, we are so exciting to have secured a great soccer field in Phuket 8 month before the kick-off of the 9th Phuket Soccer 7s! At this stage, over 60 teams are confirmed but we expect to reach over 80 teams, including for the first year a womens category with teams from Australia, Hungary, Hong Kong, Singapore, South-Korea and Thailand.

Regarding teams from the Phuket Soccer 7s, the venue is about the same distance from Patong to the FIFA venue (FC Phuket ground!) where we have played previously. It is back towards the airport. There is also accommodation in the playing venue complex which will be offered as one of the official tournament hotels, but also for soccer training camps for oversea teams. There is a swimming pool next to the field for participants and also a canteen/cafeteria which will be open during our tournaments.

Some information about the Andaman & Phuket International Soccer tournaments:

5 tournaments, 2 weekends, 80 teams from 18 countries, including some ex-professional players and more than 25 nationalities. 2,000 participants, relatives, friends, supporters... mostly expatriates living in Asia but this year teams will come also from Australia, Middle-East, England, France, Germany and Denmark. Over 300 games, 24 trophies, 300 medallions, 2 captain's briefings, 2 press conferences and 4 evening parties. Largest sport event of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.

This tournament has developed into one of the largest 7s tournament in Asia and we expect that the response will be such that we will again need to run 2 tournaments, with the 5th Andaman International Soccer 7s. These tournaments are an invitation tournaments that provide a socially competitive environment for players who approach the game with the right attitude and in the right spirit. With no prize money at stake, teams take part for one reason only, their love of soccer.

The tournament shall be played in accordance to FIFA Laws of the game except where there shall be no offside and interchange of players.

All participating should note that by accepting the invitation to this tournament they are deemed to have accepted and agree to abide by the Rules and Regulation as contained in the Official Thai International Soccer 7s' Tournament Rules.

A Disclaimer and Indemnity Form must be duly signed by the team representative and returned to the Tournament Organiser prior to their first game being played.

There will be 3 levels of competition - Cup, Plate & Bowl - and both winners and runners-up at each level will receive trophies to mark their achievement and each player in these teams is also awarded with a medallion.
